Marbury to the Celtics?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3804977
There are a few places he could end up but this ESPN article states that sources are pointing to the Celtics. Though people thought KG would not like this the article says he has hasn't opposed it..
one Celtics source insists that Garnett has voiced no opposition to the idea of signing Marbury for the rest of the season to strengthen Boston's backcourt depth behind starters Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen.

That would strengthen this team.....strengthen there chances of not winning it all, he will not be a bench player which he would on this team and the first bad thing that happens he'd point fingers at everyone else...
off topic, i wonder what he's doing with the starbury tatoo? being that the store that sells his clothing line "steve and barrys" is completely going out of businessHidden Content

Marbury should not be allowed on any team for this season just because he has been such a negative to the sport and the Knicks for several months beginning with last season already.

That's the problem. It's all childish vengeful spite. I mean, he's a professional that gets paid millions of dollars. If the coach wants to bench you, that's his choice; it's part of the job. As a professional, he needs to learn to accept that and react in a mature manner.
Imagine you are a high ranking, highly paid project manager, and the CEO of the company did not give you the most recent high profile project. In fact, he gave it to someone less talented than you, the "Chris Duhon" of the company so to speak. So you are upset, but when the next month comes around, the CEO gives you the high profile project, now do you say "I don't want to do it, you are stupid for not giving me the last project" and spit in the CEO's face or do you take what was given to you and do the best that you can so the boss can see that hey you ARE better than Chris Duhon. And if you do a good job, would people not respect you? If you are professional, how can people not respect you.
I hate on Kobe cause I just don't like him, but I respect him because he brings it on most nights.
It's exactly that kind of "I deserve it" attitude that is messing up this generation and country. We don't deserve nothing, we have to earn it.
I'm not hating on Marbury, I used to watch him, even seen him in an all-star game where he was draining clutch 3's. He is talented, yes, but talent is not everything. If he has a psychological issue, then maybe he can be excused for his behavior; if he does not have any psychological issues, then he's just acting like a spoiled kid and a diva.

I'm kinda torn on this one - he still has potential, and could be a good fit, but I think it could mess up the Celtics team chemistry and would be the equivilant of baseballs "clubhouse cancer". So, I would really rather he didn't go to the Celtics...I'd rather see the Celtics pick up a FA guard, and I'd rather see Marbury unemployed for the remainder of the season.

I didn't grow up or have live in Minnesota. So just wondering, has KG ever voiced opposition to anything? Personally, I think that if Starbury could stand being on the bench, then this would a good trade. Otherwise, I have no idea how this would turn out.Last edited by drtom2005; 01-02-2009 at 03:30 PM.
