i dont think yao is that interested in putting on a lot more weight (he is almost 300 lbs anywayz) he is a finesse player and isnt goin to dominate physically like shaq...he beats you with his height, fundamental skills, freethrow shooting and baseline jumper.

    Cool

Certainly, Yao can become the next dominant player.

Who is out there that matches up to him? Even Shaq has had 4 shots blocked by Yao.

As for Yao not being muscular ---- I got two words: BARRY BONDS.

Take a look at his rookie card (1987 Topps; 1986 Donruss Rookies) --- he's a skinny dude.

Now look at the cards from last couple of years -- complete transformation.

Want an even more perfect example ---- Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa. Check out their rookie cards, then look at them now.

As they say in basketball, you can't teach height.

Yao's got nice skills; he just needs to work on them in next few years.

Even Kobe was raw when he started (remember those airballs in the playoffs vs Utah Jazz)?

    heres my outlook on YAO:

You gotta give him time...he is used to chineese basketball which is nothing like the NBA...it was pretty much like a catch and shoot situation for him. He comes here and ppl fly by like its going out of style...hes cought on though..you can see it in his game...I think that Yoa in a couple of years will be a mix of SHAQ/KG/DIRK and HAKEEM.....he will bulk up a little (its only normal for it to happen...every NBA player does it)...then he will use the skills that he has such as what DIRK/KG and HAKEEM have/had (which was the ability to move inside and outside and be productive) He will never be "the greatest" but he will be "one of the most feared" with the skills and natural ability he has its only TIME that he needs to become what he can truely be. Its funny how ppl think that if your not the greatest rookie in your first year then you'll never be....look at Jason Kidd....he didnt have the greatest of years, but he built up his skills and look at him now...hes one of the best PG's around...YAO WILL BLOW UP...its just time that he needs

most of the players are on some sorts, kinda like selling your soul to the devil.

yao footwork reminds me of hakeem, like no other and in my lifetime hakeem has the greatest footwork of all centers. I am sitting him think about him doing his fakes like driving to the basket and then stopping on a dime and going the other way for a dunk.
