    All NBA team - 2004

Here's the breakdown of the players who made All NBA, just released today :

    1st team:
    forward Tim Duncan
    guard Kobe Bryant
    center Shaquille O'Neal,
    forward Kevin Garnett
    guard Jason Kidd
    ----------------------------------------
    2nd team:
    Jermaine O'Neal,
    Peja Stojakovic,
    Ben Wallace,
    Sam Cassell
    Tracy McGrady
    ----------------------------------------
    3rd team:
    Ron Artest,
    Dirk Nowitzki,
    Yao Ming,
    Baron Davis
    Michael Redd

    Now, for my comments:

first, Ben Wallace should've been 1st team All NBA and not Shaq (who should've gotten 2nd team), who didn't play any defense during the regular season, shot 48% free throws, and generally had an average season

Second, notice that Allen "if I ain't starting, I ain't playing" Iverson wasn't on any of the 3 teams - that speaks volumes, eh?

Third, Ron Artest should've made 2nd team, and Peja 3rd team. While Peja is absolutely devastating from the perimeter, he plays no defense and doesn't rebound. Meanwhile, Artest will get you about 18 points (only about 7-8 less than Peja), but will shut down the other team's leading scorer and will get rebounds.

otherwise, I am quite satisfied with the selections

Wow, The NBA did A great job. These Players deserve every spots. To the comments above. A lot of people thought peja thought of made NBA 1st team! And to Baron over Kidd. Are you crazy! Kidd makes his whole team better, Baron scores. Baron was a oneyear wonder. JKidd will be racking NBA First Teams for another couple of years.

I think all the picks were fair (especially Shaq getting 1st team). There might be one that is debatable (McGrady under Kidd), but McGrady's team came in last so I can see the media's reasoning.

Also, One Thing TMAC DOES NOT PLAY PG KIDD DOES. I think that is what made the difference.

well look at kidd's defence i could skool him up baron davis plays good defense they need some who can run the floor because having three 7 footers in there slows the game down i would much rather see davis and kobe together in the break than kidd and kobe

I don't think it really matters what guard position they play. Just look at the forwards, they got two power forwards in there.

First of all, Baron is NOT a one-year wonder - he's been consistently good ever since he came into the NBA

If Jason Kidd is so good, how come he disappears in the NBA Finals

Have you been watching the Finals of Lakers vs. Nets, or Spurs vs. Nets?

If Kidd played above average, the Nets would've had a great chance to beat the Spurs.

But, Kidd missed open shot after open shot.

Kidd is a glorified passer. Simple as that.

While the Nets had no chance to beat the Lakers...they definitely had the chance to beat the Spurs last year, and Kidd (along with Kenyon Martin) absolutely failed

McGrady won't (or shouldn't) make 1st team All NBA until he plays a modicum of defense.

I am not asking for him to be in the top 10 of best defensive players for a year.....just play SOME defense.
