Sorry about that. It'd definitely be better to debate the IQ stuff other posters made on another thread.

Time to get back on topic.
"It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." --explaining his troubles winning over some working-class voters
"The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person, who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know, you know, there's a reaction that's been bred in our experiences that don't go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that's just the nature of race in our society."

so in 35 posts there have been about 6, maybe 7, obama quotes...lol
and not one of them has quite the same effect of "It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it." or "Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?" or even "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
Maybe we should reopen this thread when Obama has posters full of his brain farts hanging on college dorm rooms...
and to jay...i can understand a highly educated person dumbing down their speech so us common folk can decipher their dialect...but if that is what Bush has done, then he clearly thinks we're all retarded

Everyone screws up when they talk sometimes. We say one thing when we meant to say another and we get our words mixed up, it happens daily to all of us probably. Only thing is, Bush and Obama are caught on camera doing it. It doesn't mean they are uneducated or that they are not book smart, it means they are human and make mistakes. Although it is funny, people using these quotes as a "reference" to the person being uneducated is assinine.
