Card Show Advice
I am going to my first card show this weekend. Hard to believe, right. We only have one a year around where I live and I usually miss it. Does anyone have any advice on what to bring such as high or low end, rookies? Is it easier to buy or trade? How to work the tables? Any advice is appreciated.

What card show you going to? I know here in Michigan there are 2 of them this weekend. You can bring along some cards for trade bait. Make sure you know the value of the cards you bring because you can get burnt if you don't. What I do is when I first get there I go to the .10, .25, or .50 card boxes and buy any Jordan's I find. I only collect basketball so a lot of tables I can skip over because they don't have basketball. I usually try to set a path so I can at least look at every table at the show. If I think I see a deal I'll pick up the card even if I don't collect the player.
Most of the tables are overpriced for the higher end cards but some people do have good deals. You just have to know what you are looking for and what price you want to pay for it.
Shows are a fun time and you will enjoy it. It's easy to blow a lot of money too. I usually get caught up in buying a box or 2. Hope you have fun and let us know how it was and what you picked up.

I don't have any trading advice, but if you're planning to buy cards, especially in the cheap boxes, bring a holder for them because often times they do not give you a top loader. i would bring one of those snap close boxes if you can.

defintly hit up the cheap boxes that are .25/.50, they will have some hidden treasures in there guarnteed!
not many people trade, but bring the "hot players" if you plan on trading

It has gotten a lot harder to trade nowadays. The people have to make back their table costs, etc. Most dealers will only trade for new / hot stuff (as gladdyontherise said).
When you buy, be sure to shop around the whole room first. And you can always bargain too (as opposed to a card shop).
