Wolves = 2009/2010 contenders. ;)
Definitely! I was thinking they may slip in as the 8th seed this year, but with their horrible start, that won't happen. Whether they contend next year, who knows, but the WILL be a playoff team! :-)

7 players in double figures...Big Al and Foye each scored 24!

Another thing that decided the game was fouls - 27 for the Hornets, 11 for the Wolves.

Wow, this is a shocker! We know the Wolves are improved, but beating a team of New Orleans' caliber is very impressive.

Yeah, really! Even without Chandler and West, they still have Paul...and with his scoring/passing combo, they should've won this game - but, I'm not complaining! Every win gives us confidence - this time it was ALOT of confidence - that we will build on to continue to improve.

The Hornets have been practically destroyed by injuries this year. It doesn't help that we are missing Pargo and Bonzi Wells.

Bonzi Wells is doing well in China - 47 points one game and 52 a few days later...Hornets could definitely use him.

The Wolves have been winning because they are now finishing games. Early in the season the Wolves would play well only to lose in the final 3-4 minutes. Now they are closing games out by attacking the basket (foreign concept to Wolves-heads) and hitting big shots.
I think mac has a really good rotation going right now. Carney has filled in great for Brewer - not only does he give the Brewer-type intensity, but he has a shot too (unlike Corey). Another positive is that McCants has his *** on the bench. What a bust - can a player have any lower of a basketball IQ?
Some have said that the Wolves need to upgrade at PG - that that is their glaring deficiency. Telfair played well in stretches last year, and now looks as confident as ever. Yeah, he won't be that superstar some thought he would coming outta NY, but I think he is still young enough to be a good player. He needs to watch the TO's, and get more confidence in his mid-range game, but he runs the team like a fine tuned machine. MacHale has alot of confidence in him it seems, and Telfair is acting like a man about it.
I would like to see the Wolves get another body upfront. Right now it's virtually Jefferson and Love, and the mismatched Smith and Cardinal. They could use another 4 or 5 that can defend and rebound a little bit.
Looking forward to Sunday. The Bulls have been playing well with Hinrich and Deng back, and Hughes out of the fold. I like the Gordon/Foye matchup, but even so it sounds like Gordon isn't too happy these days with his lack of shots. This should be a very winnable game - something I wouldn't have said a month ago.
