UD & Topps out after 08/09...Panini to produce NBA cards

UD and topps will still create NBA cards but will have the logo's deleted off the jerseys on the card, just like the scoreboard etc.

It's actually good for us collectors since we are already flooded with autos and jersey's. We can concentrate on finishing up our collection, sets etc.

The basketball card market has just turned into the US economy. We're not going back to 1989, we're going back to 1929. You can try to call this a gritty reboot as much as you want, but what it really is, is committing hara-kiri.

I would buy as much topps and ud new product for the remainder of their contracts.I'm sure they have tons of gu and autos that need to be distributed,So with that being said maybe their last few products will be loaded.Panini what a damn joke,I just started refocusing on my basketball card collection,Oh well I guess that came to a screeching halt.Take care Steve

players aren't obligated to do anything...they do get paid for it.....i sure as heck wouldn't mind being paid to sign my name a few hundred times....not the worst gig in the world....but ya, i def hope that at least we don't travel back 20 years in the hobby

But It would open the doors for the unlicensed NBA memorabilia/auto cards. I think NBA only wants the basic stufff make for the kids (not expensive, widely distributed).

i don't want to shoot them down yet without even putting a product out, but they got a heck of an act to follow...they got a lot of people to let down if they put out a bunch of crap
