Actually in 2005 JJ had just rushed for 819 yards and 7 TDs in only 7 starts as a rookie and looked like he was going to be the real deal. To many Cowboys fans and others it looked like JJ was going to be the next great Cowboys rusher.
It is easy to criticize the decision now but then it was a good one and I bet that was a hot card too.

I think that is a success story when it comes to redemptions, it would have been nice to just have 7 out of the 8 guys sign and just having a void next to Jamal Lewis. But yeah, in terms of value, I think you have more of a chance of getting a buying or trading partner for each card
