He may be like Zydranus Illgauskas and only get a 1996 Bowman's Best! Seriously, he should get quite a few cards. It will be interesting to see how many.

i don't understand why card companies can't release cards of Darko, whether or not he can come here.

There's plenty of sports cards of players who don't make it to the big leauges

Tim -- hmmmm, that's a good point. Hadn't thought about that. I figured, if he's headed for the NBA, then the NBA owns the right to put that player on a card

Card Companies can not produce cards of players until they have been drafted, that is why we can only get trade cards from early releases
Further more, foreign players are "owned" by their teams, and need to be given permission to go. However, the team that selects them "owns" the rights to that player for up to 5 years.
IE Peja Stoyankovic was selected in the 96 Draft #12 (yah, right before Kobe- bet the Kings are kickin' themselves, lol) He wasnt able to come over until 98-99 due to contract fulfillments in Europe.
Unfortunately, card companies can not even produce Rcs of these players if they do not make deals with the foreign teams, meaning that we wouldnt see any MVP RCs of Milisic
If he can come over, any collector unlucky enough to pull a Milisic trade card will be issued a replacement card of "equal or greater market value". Generally this would be a ordinary jersey card of their spokes man, a special edition card of a spokesman in the case the RC is serially numbered. If not, likely it would be another rookie drafted around the player

Personally I think Milisic will end end flourishing...if he goes to Detroit. The East is sooooooooo small, that a 7-1 power center would have no problem dominating on O. As for D, any mess ups would easily be corrected by the best defensive player since Rodamn, Ben Wallace
