OJ Mayo or Russell Westbrook? (R.O.Y.)
If you had a vote for Rookie of the Year, and wanted to see 2 of the top 3 candidates, go head to head against each other.....Where would you go? Well, tonight you would have been in Oklahoma City to watch the Thunder play the Grizzlies!
Just got back from the game, and am pretty impressed with OJ Mayo. He shows maturity on the court, and plays smart basketball. He finished with 17 Points. He and Westbrook went back and forth all night.
Westbrook finished with 16 points and 6 assists. He had 3 MONSTER DUNKS, and unfortunetly, was given a technical foul for hanging on the rim, and slapping the backboard, after a SICK Tomma-Hawk Dunk. (The highligght dunk, was well worth the Technical) I would expect it make ESPNs top 10 plays this week.
Anyways, it was a great game, with the OKC Thunder winning in Overtime 114-102. Kevin Durant was the leading scorer with 35.
I was also very impressed with "rookie" Marc Gasol. This guy is gonna be really good.
Heres some quick pics that I took. I apologize for the quality...I REALLY need a new camera. Anyways....Enjoy!!!

Don't know - Westbrook is exceeding my expectations. Nice pictures too!
If I had to choose, I'd probably go with Mayo for now.

Thanks.
I'm getting ready to buy a new camera, to take with me to the games...but in the mean time, I have to use this junky one.
I know I sound like a broken record....and I am probably showing favoritism to the home team.....but Westbrook is so good. He is the best defender on the court any time he's playing. This team is so young, but the talent is there. With a young nucleaus of Durant, Westbrook, and Green, all they need to do is get 1 more solid Draft pick, and they will be a contendere in their division. This teams future looks very bright.

I really like Westbrook...
A second note: Are the crowds big in OKC? Are games selling out?
Enjoy your future...Durant, Green and Westbrook...frustrating at times but think of 2-3 years from now...

Yes...every game is a sellout. 18,000 + (But it is easy to find a ticket outside the arena, if you need one)
In 2005, when The Hornets played here for 2 seasons, they also averaged 18,000+ (I think they were 4th in the league in attendance)

There are a few teams that are fairly young right now, but could have several super-star caliber players within 2-3 years, and both the Thunder and the Grizzlies are 2 of those teams.

Right now I say Flip a coin and you cant go wrong. Though what will be telling is who is the best after the All Star break when the Rooks start to hit that ROOKIE WALL.
The one who can manage the fatigue the best I think will be voted.
Not quite sure how many college seasons westbrook played, but mayo had one(no real long drawn out big time bball seasons), So yea fatigue will be a big deciding factor.
Great pics by the Way...Go Pacers
