I dont look into welfare programs, and I wasnt being specific to any particular program. I dont care if there is welfare for life, or if its just for 5 minutes, I dont want my money going to worthless scum. Give it to someone who needs it, and is at least trying. Thats all I'm trying to say.

here's the thing...everytime i hear people complain about welfare it's because they don't want their tax money going to a lazy stoner...i never see any other reasons...so am I wrong for asking people to discuss it? Im still waiting for anybody to show me a welfare for life program, and when they do, i'll acknowledge that there is one...until then i haven't found one, and was really just interested in discussing welfare programs and policies...unfortunately all of those against welfare dont have anything to talk about and would rather just tell me im way off

They want to. It's been shown time and time again that people are giving creatures. If I am able, I will absolutely help someone whom I think won't abuse my compassion. Taxing me more and more puts a terrible face on something that should be a loving act: welfare.

The government is incapable of solving most problems for an extended period of time. Therefore, its goal should be to not prevent our ability of doing so through taxation.

Well, Red, I can jump from state to state and work for a month at a crappy job then get welfare from that state. May have to move around a little and work a little but still get my welfare

so basically what you're saying is you can't find this "welfare for life" either? I mean, I guess it's possible...but who's gonna put all that energy into moving from state to state just so they don't have to work

My post never said "most people who get welfare are worthless scum", all I said was I dont want it going to the ones who are worthless scum. Maybe thats 5%, maybe its 95%, either way I dont care. You know I didnt say "most".

here is my simple answer.... i dont want to be taxed so someone else doesnt have to pay them. I honestly dont care if they need it, want it, deserve it, or just cant live without it. There are enough churches and organizations out there that are very well funded, if we got rid of the percentage of taxes forced upon us from welfare im sure these people would be fine. I have a percentage from my check each week taken out for the united way.... im sure those people who work for them can stretch a dollar a lot farther than some politcal head in Washington can.... I also know the UW has restrictions that go along with money. So we arent paying for the guy on welfare to buy a carton of cigs then pay a few years down the road when he develops lung cancer so we can keep him alive.

im not trying to pick a fight with you...dont take it that way...but you said "worthless scum"...im assuming then your true meaning was that you dont mind any welfare programs so long as it goes to the right people?

are you saying you are against welfare altogether or are you ok with welfare if it was supervised better or if they offered drug tests to qualify?

cool...i think its great that you donate some of your money to charity...and i can respect the fact that you dont want to support any form of welfare with your tax dollars...we all have causes we dont want our tax money going to, or would just like to simply keep more of our money

so tutall is willing to admit that he's against all forms of welfare or government financial aid regardless of a persons situation...food stamps, WIC, unemployment comp, disability, health care, cash assistance, etc....there are other alternatives
