    hello

im new to the site and have a question. I was digging through my garage and found an upper deck metal case that has 5 all metal collector cards of michael jordan that are still in plastic. they are from 1996. i searched a little bit online but couldnt really find anything that really let me know if these are worth anything or not. if anyone has any info on this or can point me in the right direction i would appreciate it. thanks

    jason

    Hi Jason -

First off, welcome to SCF! Secondly, I moved your post to "Basketball Card Talk". And, last but not least, I believe I own the same set as you, but only 6 cards are in mine. Do you have photos, or can you get photos of yours? If they are Jordan, then they are most likely worth something decent. :-)

I think I have this little tin set myself...but I think I only have three of the cards...I can't remember where I got it - probably in a garage sale type lot - but didn't throw it out cause it was Jordan...I don't have mine with me (its in storage) but I remember the cards standing up in the tin and the tin opening from the top...I liked the novelty of it.

Kind of cool but I wouldn't think very valuable, even if its Jordan. I would think only a sealed set would get enough interest to make it worth selling...just my opinion, and I don't collect jordan so I really have no idea...

im only asking if they are worth anything at all is because i have been laid off for 2 months and any little bit of money helps right now.

thanks for any help that anyone might be able to give.

Jason, sorry to hear about your circumstances...hopefully your situation improves very soon...

That set is different than mine...looks pretty nice and the best thing is that all the cards are still in the original plastic seals...the ding in the tin is unfortunate but otherwise looks to be a nice set...

Why not post in the cards for sale section and take offers and see what the market is like? At least you could see how much interest there is...

Of course, being new you would be obligated to follow the MSF rules, but we've all had to pay those dues...

    Good Luck!

Those aren't the same ones I have, but they still are nice! I would do what VintageHeros suggested, by posting them for sale in the Basketball Buy/Sell forum. I am sure that some Jordan fan would be interested. :-) Good luck!
