The Best NBA Games Review by J.K. with video
Of course, it is really funny to watch these days games.
But sometimes we want to watch again the best games in the past time.
It depends on players, teams and era.
For me, I watched Shawn Kemp and Alonzo Mourning games when I was kid.
SO most of my review would be from 1990's.
Here we go. =)
(If you can help this post, it would be better. =) )
* All players listed as Draft year and pick.
* V means I watched.(checked)
* Updating would not be at once.
(Hakeem Olajuwon)
==========================================
1987-88 Season
------------------------------------------------------
- 19871212 - Rockets @ Bulls V
------------------------------------------------------
You can see Olajuwon-Sampson twin tower.
can feel how powerful was sampson.
And opponent is MJ and Oakley+Grant Twin Tower.
You can also see Pippen as rookie what was he doing. =)
------------------------------------------------------
==========================================
==========================================
1989-90 Season
------------------------------------------------------
- 19900329 - Rockets @ Bucks V
------------------------------------------------------
One of the craziest player made quadruple-double.
Only 4 players made quadruple-double in NBA history.
------------------------------------------------------
==========================================
(Rod Strickland)
==========================================
1996-97 Season
------------------------------------------------------
- 19970430 - Bullets VS Bulls (Playoffs 1R G # 3) V
------------------------------------------------------
First and Last full season with Bullets for Rod Strickland.
There were Chris Webber and Juwan Howard
But Rod was the best player at least in this game
Opponent was crazy 69 winning Chicago Bulls.
------------------------------------------------------
==========================================
(Alonzo Mourning)
==========================================
1992-93 Season (rookie season)
------------------------------------------------------
- 19930505 - Hornets VS Celtics (Playoffs Game # 4) V
------------------------------------------------------
Next bulls VS Old Celtics
(Alonzo Mourning, Larry Johnson and Muggsy Bogues)
VS
(Kevin McHale and Robert Parish)
can feel how ZO was crazy, he was a rookie though.
(not like most of 2000's center position players except Ming and DH12..Of course, even they will not be able to reach ZO's career though.)
------------------------------------------------------
==========================================
(Robert Horry)
==========================================
1995-96 Season
------------------------------------------------------
- 19951116 - Rockets @ Bucks
------------------------------------------------------
First and last career high game of Robert Horry.
(40 points)
Crazy thing is 2/3 points were from 3 PT.
More weird thing is he scored without any freethrows.
He scored as same as Big Dog + Vin Baker.
------------------------------------------------------
==========================================
==========================================
1994-95 Season
------------------------------------------------------
- 19950601 - Rockets VS Spurs (Playoffs CF G # 6) V
------------------------------------------------------
Both Rockets and Spurs was great team.
Rockets had Olajuwon, Drexler, Kenny Smith, Mario Elie,
Robert Horry and Sam Cassell.
Spurs had David Robinson, Avery Johnson, Sean Elliott, Dennis Rodman and Doc Rivers.
Really hard to define who was better before 20 seconds in 4Q.
In this game, The Dream, Glider and The Admiral was crazy.
But Horry made last chance to win.
(He made many 3 PTs even playoffs Conference Final)
------------------------------------------------------
==========================================
(Anfernee Hardaway)
==========================================
1994-95 Season (Sophomore)
------------------------------------------------------
- 19950529 - Magic @ Pacers (Playoffs Game # 4) V
------------------------------------------------------
Penny Hardaway was only sophomore.
But Penny + SHAQ combi downed MJ then matched
with Reggie Miller and Pacers squad (include Rik Smits).
can feel why Penny was one of next MJ.
There was something above stat.
can see also why Pacers was strong team not like now a days.
watch carefully Penny, Reggie and Smits through all game.
This game revealed problem of SHAQ of Magic at that time.
Futhermore, there were 2 future coaches at pacers.
(Sam Mitchell and Byron Scott)
------------------------------------------------------
==========================================
(Kevin Garnett)
==========================================
2000-01 Season
------------------------------------------------------
- 20001117 - Timber wolves VS Spurs V
------------------------------------------------------
Wolves had Wally and Chauncey but it couldn't help much.
Not only they were not matured yet but also Spurs had too much veteran and great players.
(Tim Duncan + David Robinson Twin Tower, Sean Elliott,
Avery Johnson, Terry Porter, Derek Anderson and Antonio Daniels)
Futhermore Spurs streaked 12 games before this game.
Because of lack of team, KG had to match both Tim Duncan and David Robinson.
But what was happenned ? =)
------------------------------------------------------
==========================================
==========================================
2006-07 Season
------------------------------------------------------
- 20070129 - Timber wolves VS Suns V
------------------------------------------------------
There were only 1 Super star and 1 key players.
(Kevin Garnett and Ricky Davis)
But Suns streaked 17-0 to last game.
And there were Steve Nash, Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudmire with nice bench like Bell, Barbosa and Diaw.
can see how great was the big ticket playing.
Because of lack of team, KG lotationed position PG and PF.
can also feel unmatured rookie Craig Smith.
------------------------------------------------------
==========================================
(Tracy McGrady)
==========================================
2007-08 Season
------------------------------------------------------
- 20080222 - Rockets @ Hornets V
------------------------------------------------------
T-MAC VS CP3 / Ming VS Chandler
can see when all of Rockers was healthy.
T-MAC and CP3 was great.
and Ming dominented.
------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
- 20080502 - Rockets @ Jazz (Playoffs Game # 6 - 1R) V
------------------------------------------------------
Ming was out because of injury.
Alston and Bobby Jackson didn't help much.
Mutombo had foul trouble.
For T-MAC, he didn't win this game but he was very nice.
can also see Jazz, great teamwork with Deron and Boozer combi

I wish I could remember some of the great games and great plays of the 90s. Most of what we see is Jordan highlights these days. Would be nice if ESPN Classic had more classic NBA games.

Thank you for interest. =)
It would be nearly impossible to see those classic game without MJ, KG, Kobe, T-MAC and Lebron.
(I have not been able to watch those ESPN as real time but I know)
In my country, there is kinds of internet broadcasting system for free.
For example, if I want to share and broadcast 1992-93 Hornets VS Celtics PO 1st round game # 1,
I only would have to turn on that broadcast program.
The point is, depends on game, people was bigger or smaller.
If I broadcast MJ VS Olajuwon, KG VS Kobe, T-MAC VS Lebron, Many guys participated to watch those game.
But If I broadcase ZO VS Parish, Penny VS Kenny Anderson, KG VS Twin Tower(Duncan+Robinson)..
there is only a little hardcore mania.
At least MJ VS XX, it was the best game for people even MJ was not good.
Now a days, I broadcast MJ VS Rod Strickland.
(1996 PO G3 1st round)
In that game, MJ was not great as usual.
But it doesn't matter. People liked that game.
(Because it was MJ game..)
In contrary, most of people didn't watch this precious game.
(I broadcasted this game in ZO's retirement day.)

Awesome video. I remember watching that game! Larry Johnson/Mourning/Bogues/Dell Curry were awesome in Charlotte!
I love how the giant hornet mascot came out to celebrate also after the shot haha..

I still have a ton of mid and late '90s games on VHS, and some early '00s. I like watching NBA TV and ESPN Classic to catch some of the older games as well.
