    Knicks @ Pacers IP autographs

Well yesterday my plan was to do the Knicks at the hotel and then the Pacers at the game so I could at least get Jarrett Jack to sign the new stuff I got in. So that is what I did. The hotel was the coldest I have ever been too and most of the players were signing as fast and as few as they could or not signing at all because of it "Being too cold for them."

The main players I wanted were:
    1. Jared Jeffries (former IU player)
    2. Al Harrington (former Pacers "legend" I guess you could say)
    3. David Lee (All-Star snub I guess, but great player no matter what)
    4. Quentin Richardson (loved watching him as a Sun, too bad he was traded away from there)
    5. Danilo Gallinari (rookie that I think will be very good on down the road)
    6. Chris Duhon (Jarrett Jack's cousin who Jack hit the game-winner over last time we played the Knicks :D)
...and then anything else was a bonus for what I was really wanting despite the cold lol.

    So here's what I got:

Q-Rich signed everything for everybody, but didn't even say a word I don't think. He just took my binder out of my hands and signed the whole page of 9 and then handed it back to me. He was by no means unfriendly, he just didn't say much at all just like the rest of the team.

Danilo Gallinari- very nice and made sure he got everybody. He also signed everything put in front of him just like Q-Rich. I am also glad to see he got some playing time last night and even had 2 threes.

David Lee- surprisingly signed for every person that wanted him (which was everybody of course lol). He did a max of 2 per which was nice since he's pretty much an All-Star caliber player. For items like floorboards and basketballs, he also included #42.

Al Harrington- I left the hotel before the players (most of the team) so I didn't get him, Rose (didn't sign apparently), D'Antoni, or Tim Thomas since I left 10 minutes before the 2nd bus had to leave, and they weren't even out yet. As far as I know a bunch of players didn't travel (minus Marbury + Curry), even Walt Frazier and Allan Houston. I did get Al at the game though as after I got Jarrett Jack, I went over to the Knicks side and my friend's dad was in the row they have season tickets for, and he waved me over to have their row. A few minutes later Al came through and signed 1 for everybody. Al was very glad to be back in Indiana you could tell, and he was talking to the fans, giving handshakes and giving fives to several fans before going into the tunnel to sign. The only 2 Knicks to sign at the game were Harrington and Duhon...Nate Robinson and Wilson Chandler were the only other two to come out and they completely ignored everybody. Chandler also did this at the hotel.

Jared Jeffries- I finally got to meet IU's very own Jared Jeffries!! I grew up watching IU basketball and I remember watching just about every game he played for IU during his time there. He signed 2 of my 3 cards and I let him keep the 3rd. I asked if I could get a picture with him and he said "Nah, it's too cold out here right now to take a picture." He also only signed for about 3 people including me (Good thing I wore my IU hoody as once he saw it he came right over to me). After he signed for me, he stood behind the bus for about 10 minutes waiting for a cab to pick him up to take him to the game so he could be ahead of the bus (waiting in the cold) and yet wouldn't take a pic with me that would take about 10 seconds max. At least I got 2 autos out of him lol.

Anthony Roberson- was very greatful to sign and was surprised that so many people wanted his auto, and he had no problem with adding any inscription people wanted him to sign such as "Go Gators" or "Go Knicks."

Jarrett Jack is such a class act, and it is worth the time to go to a game to meet him. He signed for every person, including every kid there wanting stuff signed. He would talk to everybody, sign anything and everything, smile with the fans, take pics, just everything. I think he is probably the nicest player I have ever met. He also makes sure he signs everything. My mom yelled his name, and he turned around and instantly recognized her from getting stuff signed before, and he posed for a pic while he was signing for me too. I also gave him some more cards to keep and he just loves the cards I give him, some he's never seen before. I just can't stress enough of how nice of a person he is.

Chris Duhon (Jarrett Jack's cousin)- was nicer than I though he would be about signing. Again, most of the Knicks players never really said a word including Duhon. I've heard that Duhon has been hard to get and is 1 per person (which he is), but surprisingly he signed at the hotel and the game for everybody at both places. So I wound up with 2 as I got him at the hotel and then at the game after Al Harrington signed for me.

Malik Rose- I didn't get him to sign, but he apparently was way late as with 10 minutes left to get on the bus, he was just coming back from the mall's Subway getting something to eat and he had 2 drinks in his hand. I passed him on the crosswalk too. My mom was walking into the mall as he was coming out (she told me about this) and even though his hands were full, he opened the door for her, which I think was a nice gesture as even most players probably wouldn't have done that even without anything in their hands.

T.J. Ford- T.J. also signed amazingly before the game as he usually makes excuses to not sign. He signed for just about everybody. I could have gotten him but I chose to get Harrington instead since I already have T.J. Ford in my IP auto collection. And by the way, this was the most packed it has been for Pacers autos all season long.

So all in all, even though I missed a couple players (and eventually got Harrington), it was a great time with lots of autos once again. If you have a chance to get the Knicks IP, take it!! Just hope the weather is better than it was for me. I was also glad the Indianapolis crews did a good job about cleaning up the streets and such since they got about 14 inches of snow a couple days before. My next game is like February 22nd I believe which features the Chicago Bulls. Since the Bulls are horrible at the hotel because of their team security guard, I am not doing the hotel but will most likely try for them at the game and just hope I get at least 1 auto lol. If not, there's always Jarrett Jack! ;)

Thanks for viewing and please leave any comments you may have!!

neither of them were out :( dunleavy was out and signed for the people only in the front of each row and he had the WORST attitude i've seen from a player (and the only attitude i've seen from anybody that was worse than dunleavy was Patrick Ewing when he told everybody to f*** off and get that s*** out of his face). Somebody asked Mike that they had a second thing for him to sign (he always does multiples even) and he said "Not my problem" and then he stopped signing about 3/4 of the way up the rows and the people asked Mike can you sign for me real fast" and he said "Nope deal with it," and he ran back in. All the people that saw it and experienced it said that they're no longer a fan of his so it sucks for Mike.

I had the same experience with Q-Rich before. I got the feeling he was PO'ed. Looked at my card for the longest time; signed it; ignored me & didn't say a thing.

Is that the Topps Chrome card of Jack I sent you?

    Great post & fun read!

hmm, maybe he didn't like what the back of the card said? Q-Rich was pretty cool, he didn't mind signing and didn't mind being cold out there, he just took my binder and started signing them all row by row. But idk what Mike Dunleavy's problem was, just having a bad attitude towards the fans for no reason.

And yes, it is the Jack Topps Chrome card you sent me. Thanks a lot for it!!!

I'm sure he's at home, crying himself to sleep.

He doesn't have to sign anything for fans, I'm sick of when people get all upset over people that don't sign, or only sign one thing. It's really annoying.

lol, you don't know the pacers dude, and their team policies. this is why it's so surprising. especially this year when their policies are so high for the pacers players because they're trying to bring back the fans and "indiana basketball." And if you even knew Dunleavy, you'd also be wondering even more about why he was so rude, even more so when he was signing and then just quit and had an attitude for no reason.

well there is a difference between not signing and saying "nope not my problem".

I know what you're talking about. But I don't think Reggie_Miller was doing that. He was simply posting what he saw. And part of the reason for these threads is to help others figure out who likes to sign & who doesn't. Now I know Mike Dunleavy doesn't like to sign. Plain & simple.
