Advice Needed
Hey folks...Need a bit of advice here. I am in a bind, and unfortunately, have to sell off a chunk of my Hank Blalock personal collection. I don't do the ebay thing much, so not 100% sure where the value would be. There will be no shipping as the potential buyer is local. Let me know what you think about $325 cash for this lot:

Well, if anyone knows Blalock it should be you...
Put yourself in the buyer's shoes...would you pay $8.33 a card for a huge lot of Blalocks all serial #'d less than 32? Of course you would! That's a steal even for someone who doesn't collect Blalock!
Without knowing about your bind I wonder if there isn't another way...could someone loan you the money and hold your cards as collateral? If you did do ebay I imagine you would get twice that price easily (although you'd have to deal with ebay!)...
No one should ever expect to make a profit or return on their PC Player "investment" but selling in a bind is a sure fire way to lose big-time!
If it were me, and regretably it has been in the past, I would explore all other options for fixing your situation. Selling your cards may be the quick and easy way out but you will most likely regret it, and regret it for a very long time...
You have my sympathy and I wish you the best!

i agree with the last post... i got in a bind and sold all my stuff to get out... took a huge loss... i think you would be doing the same... make sure you get enough... as you wont be seeing any of those cards.... way too rare to be given away

I don't know your financial situation, but I would do whatever I could to hold onto your cards. Borrow of a friend, family member, someone . . . you're going to ALWAYS regret selling those cards if that is the guy you most enjoy collecting. Certainly there is someone you know that would lend you $400, right? Even a payday loan would be better than giving your cards away.
I was in a pinch for cash at one point in my life, and I sold several circa 1960 Mantles along with a couple Jordan rookies that I had collected. I will tell you, the financial downturn came and went, but I still regret selling those cards (even though I got a very fair price for them). The sad thing is, if I would have swallowed my pride a bit and asked a friend or family member, I could have borrowed the money and saved myself the regret.
If Hank Blaylock is whom you personally collect, don't give away what you've worked hard to get. Do you have stocks you could get rid off? Its alot easier to replace a stock or a mutual fund in your portfolio than it is low serial #'d cards you value.
That's just my opinion, if you have no other recourse than to sell those cards, don't give them away. Though I really don't collect new baseball, I would imagine you could probably sell them each individually on ebay with a Buy it Now price for more than the $8 a piece you would get in this deal you have brokered.

Try selling them on the bay before you go ahead and loose your money and most important your collection

You'll regret it, dont do it, especially if you have 90's inserts.
EDIT: not everybody has 90's inserts
