Rudy Gay to miss dunk contest?

    Article

    -----

That'd stink...who'll replace him if he is out? Russell Westbrook and Joe Alexander were both mentioned earlier in the year....

    I'd like Westbrook...

This should be a lame dunk contest anyway. I would've loved to have seen Carney in it, but there was a Wolf in it last year.

Rumor has it that Alexander will be in it. A respected poster from the Bucks message board on an NBA forum was at the Bucks game last night and at halftime said that Alexander said to a couple guys sitting a row in front of him that he'll be in the dunk contest.

However I dont think it would make sense to chose Alexander over Westbrook for three reasons

#1 - Westbrook beat Alexander in the voting for the 4th contestant

#2 - Westbrook will already be at All-Star weekend for the rookie/soph game. Joe isn't even going to be there

#3 - They already had a vote to see who the fans wanted in. Would the NBA just allow either Westbrook or Alexander in after they lost the vote?

Hopefully though Joe gets in. He should have gotten in on the vote. I'd hope we hear something about this in the next day or so

westbrook is def. not as good a dunker as alexander.

plus westbrook is a snooze of a player. i've never seen someone dunk on someone, score 15 pts. 8 ***. and 5 reb. and not even know he was in the game.

    What?

Westbrook has 2 or 3 highlight dunks a game!!! (And Im curious how Westbrook can be a "snooze" of a player)and how you can judge his performance... yet.....there has only been 1 Thunder game televised nationally this year. Just wondering what you guys are using as a borometer? Where are you seeing him play? What are you basing this off of?

Coming from someone like me who has floor seats, sees the game up close and personal, and has not missed a home game this year.
