It definitely is, but only because that's what computers have loaded when they're bought most of the time. People get used to it and either don't like change or aren't aware of the other options. If computers came with another browser loaded, I don't think IE would even still be around. It's like AOL...everybody used it because it was either already provided or the easiest to get, but anybody who'd tried anything else knew just how bad AOL was (is? are they still around?).
