    TTM Questions..

I have never tried TTM but am looking forward to trying it out.

I am going to send out some 8x10's....Do I need to put a SASE with it?

Do you put in anything with the photo so it doesn't get bent?

If I send out to NFL/NBA teams, is it ok to include 8x10's of 2 or 3 different players?

What does it normally cost to send out a letter and a 8x10 photo?

Thanks, I appreciate any advice you all could give me..

Always send a SASE. Those guys shouldn't have to pay to return your photo. Send each players photo to the player themselfs. As far as keeping the photo from getting bent, I put a piece of cardboard in with the photo. As far as cost, usually a couple of dollars but take it to the post office and they will tell you.

I think that you will have to have seperate enveloples for each players request.
I just write "do not bend" on the envelope.
You don't have to send a SASE but it increases your chances

    One envelope per player
SASE is a MUST if you don't want to send SASEs you should do email graphing
If you put a cardboard box, it usually costs $1.17 but the price will change in May so I would put about 3 forever stamps (they will be worth .44 in May)

An SASE is a necessity when trying TTM. Without sending an SASE your chances of getting your cards back signed are probably 1/250...

With TTMing comes a nice hobby and depending on the player, usually a good turnaround rate.

Whenever you send anything you should always include a SASE.

It's a better idea if you send to each player individually rather than addressing it to all three...you'll find you get a better success rate for individually sending the requests since it will likely not get to them if addressed for multiple people. for example:

Albert Pujols, Ryan Ludwick, & Kahlil Green
    C/O St. Louis Cardinals
    etc
    etc

When sending, you can put a thin sheet of cardboard (like a file folder or smoething) to help prevent bending, but that will increase postage cost. Your best bet is to just put DO NOT BEND on the SASE and envelope there and hope that the post office respects that.

As for what it costs, I don't usually send 8x10s so I honest can't help you there.

Personally I would not put a SASE with the letter, let the millionaires pay for the return mail.

That is my story and I am sticking to it!!!

Here is my success rate 0/48 when I dont add postage, I guess I am sending to a bunch of jerks that dont TTM very well

He's being sarcastic when he says not to use a SASE, but his point is right on. If you don't send an SASE along with your request, you completely hinder any chances you have to get that card back. You MUST send an SASE with your request. To presume that someone would be flattered enough by your request to pony up an envelope and postage is misguided at best.

    Always include an SASE.

    Always.

    About sending 8x10s, here's what I do:

I put a thin sheet of cardboard inside my 9x11 SASE and then put the SASE, letter and photo in a 10x12 envelope. I used to fold my SASE in half and stick it in the outer envelope, but the signer wasn't sticking the cardboard back in with the photo. That's all my bad. Using two different sized envelopes and putting the cardboard backing in the SASE makes sure that my photos arrive safely 99% of the time. I also write PLEASE DO NOT BEND in huge letters on my photo SASEs.
