Old School Fun - CASE BREAK!
I recently bought 17 cases of baseball cards for very cheap. Because of this, one was given to me for free because it showed water damage on the outside.
I posted it for sale for $100 unopened, or $50 if I break it, and buyer takes the commons.
Welll .... I found a buyer! Someone paid $50 for the commons, and I was able to bust open my first case of baseball cards in my life - having collected for about 20 years, this was great! It was a 1992 Topps wax case, but still fun!
20 boxes, 720 packs, 10,800 cards.
Before this, I was considering busting open each case and selling off the commons, then keeping the good cards, but it really just became super cumbersome, so I think I have had my fill for opening wax cases. This was a great way to try my hand at a case, while on someone elses dime.
I pulled 17 Manny Ramirez rookies, 17 or so Brad Ausmus rc's and about the same # for Shawn Green rc's, not to mention 9 Nolan Ryans, 12 Ripkens, 11 Bonds and many others.
I also spent Sunday going through them to put together a set of the 92 Topps (even though I have about 16 sets of it already!) - it was just something I wanted to put together since I hadn't put together a set in over a decade, probably 15 years. If I had to guess, I would say it took me TEN boxes at least to make one set. The collation was not very good in this, but either way, I made one.

Nice, I love opening the older products here and there. It takes me back to my child hood when I started collecting with my father.
