Spring Training Day Four Change of Plans

We were planning to go to either Lakeland or Bradenton to see the Tigers or Pirates but because of the threat of rain, we decided to return to Viera to the Washington Nationals. The entire team is there now except for Odalis Perez who is upset about the $500,000 minor league deal he signed and Ryan Zimmerman who is going to arbitration. It was the windiest day I have ever seen which may have affected the players stopping after practice to sign.

    Here is who I got:

    Destin Hood - 1 card
Josh Willingham - 1 card (he only signs one)
    Alex Cintron - 1
    Austin Kearns - 1
    Shawn Hill - 2
    Garrett Mock - 1
    Saul Rivera - 2
    Colin Balester - 1
    Steven Shell - 1
Justin Jones - 1 (on signature card)

Adam Dunn was a disappointment but not because he didn't try. For some reason, the Nationals staff was being very protective with him. He seemed thrilled signing for everyone after practice but one of the staff told everyone that he couldn't sign anymore because he had to get in a golf cart and get back to the clubhouse which is a good block and a half away.
They did the same thing to Lastings Milledge who tried to sign for people after he was interviewed by the media.

You would have thought they had won the World Series last year and that Dunn was the league MVP. These people were unreal.

(By the way, Dunn was forced to go to bunting practice which would be first for him.)

Tomorrow is my last day down here and we will definitely be seeing the Tigers in Lakeland.

I will post my successes and experiences on Saturday once I get home.

great week! I hope I have similar successes to what you have accomplished. I am going to see the Yanks, Reds, Phillies, and Pirates.

Love to see some pics when you get back...

    Dave,
thanks for the great report. I love the part about Dunn and Milledge. At least they were willing to sign you can't blame them for the action of the club.
