Who will still be driving in 20 years?

read a recent article about james hylton still driving at 74. and of course you have active guys like mark martin and bill elliott in their 50's.

but the question is who driving today could you still see at daytona in 2029? edwards? tony? dale jr?

it sounds like gordon and some of the others are ready to hang it up in a few years but we've all heard that before!

and not obvious ones like joey logano!

I honestly don't think a single guy in the NASCAR Cup Series outside of Logano and possibly Kyle Busch will still be around in 2029.

Will NASCAR be around in 2029 is the real question.

Maybe my favorite driver, Martin Truex Jr. He has the right personality for it, very calm cool and collected.

Logano is way to early to tell, and I don't see Kyle Busch lasting that long, he would have to tone down his aggresive style and I don't see him doing that.

First ones that come to mind would be Hamlin, Johnson, Kyle, Edwards, Dale Jr., ... possibly Kenseth, Ragan, & Bowyer also.

I think you can count on the fact that Gordons gonna leave at about 40 Tops.

Thats The REAL Question. I can see a future with Nascar Fading to a single series.....

so i did some research since i have way too much time on my days off.
in 1969 there were 4 guys who would race 20 years later- aj foyt, richard petty, dave marcis and jd mcduffie.
in 1989 there were 3 guys who raced in this years race, michael waltrip, mark martin and bill elliott.

of the current guys who have at least won a few races kyle busch will be 24, kasey kahne will be 29 carl edwards will be 30. i would call them the best bets - too early to tell on the younger guys.
kurt busch 31, ryan newman 32. jimmie, elliott, harvik and jr will all be 34 or 35 so i guess probably not for them.

lol lets make a contest. winner gets 500 cc in 2029 . oh wait with inflation better make it 50000 cc.
