    Paypal issues?

Hey, I just wanted to know if anyone else has ever experienced having their information stolen on Paypal or unauthorized payments being sent to random places. Today out of nowhere I received an email saying my payment of $80 to Autotrader.com was complete, which was so random because I never made that payment. I don't know if my information was stolen or my account was hacked into or what but I was pretty upset nonetheless. This is the second time since I have signed up with Paypal that my money has been stolen and used for random sites. And now that eBay has made the new policy of having to use Paypal or something, this is very upsetting to me because how can they do this when Paypal is such an insecure site when they claim to be security protected? Has anyone else that uses Paypal ever experienced something like this?

That stinks, and thank the lord it hasn't happened to me. Mine is setup through my debit card, so I suppose my bank would take care of something like that if it happened to me.

Did you check your account to see if $80 was deducted? I've received many fake "payment sent" emails. I logged into my account and no payment was sent. Be sure not to click on any of the links in those emails.

Hey guys thanks for the responses. My Paypal account is set up with my debit card as well. Yeah the money was deducted from my account. I filed an unauthroized payment claim and am almost positive it will be back in about a week, it's just so annoying because the first time this happened, my debit card information was stolen and all the sudden I saw my bank account was in overdraft because hundreds of dollars were spent on some adult site online. I got that resolved but had to go through all the stress and had to change my debit card. Now, it seems I have to change more informationm I'm just getting sick of it.

I know, I honestly don't want to use Paypal anymore after this, but I buy and sell on eBay and I love collecting and have basically no hobby shops near me at all. The one I did have which was at the mall near me about 15 mins away just closed it's doors and they had ridiculous prices anyways. Also sometimes selling on eBay is a nice source of income for me. I just don't know what to do at this point.

that's what sucks about this strictly paypal policy! i used to buy alot on ebay, due to the fact that the only card shop in town prices were way to high.
