Bonds was the Leader up until 2002, then Ernie Banks took over.
    Cobbs was 241 not 240

I think you have a problem Billy. Sammy Sosa has more homeruns than Ernie Banks. Ernie Banks did take over after Bonds in 2002 but Sosa passed Banks 512 homeruns last year. Sammy has 549 homeruns right now I believe. You must have been using an old book. Also, I don't think 41 games for Cobb is considered a full year.

    Well CHITTY,
I will give 50 CC To whomever had all right and guessed Sosa, and .241. It said full SEASON not him playing a full season.

    Hi,

Total Baseball (The Official Encyclopedia of MLB), lists Cobb's 1905 BA as .240 (36-for-150). And Sosa of course began the season with 539 homers; Ernie Banks had 512 homers. And as far as full season goes, if we use the interpretation you just gave, the only non-full seasons were 1994, 1981 and (to a lesser extent) 1972 -- all strike years. Oh well, it was a fun contest, I just think that when we do contests, we need to clarify exactly the type of answer we are looking for. I feel like the 1981 Cincy Reds, who had the best record in MLB but didn't make the playoffs -- in my heart, I got em all right.
