Pistons to bench AI, Rip to start

ORLANDO — If Allen Iverson is able to play tonight against the Magic, he will be coming off the bench.

Pistons coach Michael Curry announced this morning that Rip Hamilton will be back in the starting lineup, playing alongside Rodney Stuckey, in an effort to jumpstart a team in the midst of an eight-game losing streak.

“It’s nothing on Allen,” Curry said. “He’s just a guy that needs the basketball and because of it that, it reduced the time Stuckey had the ball in his hands.”

They need to change something - 8 losses in a row is bad any way you look at it. Maybe they can record a win with Rip starting now.

i agree with you cam. Stuckey is the future... but he needs to be a sixth man or something, cuz AI and Rip deserve to both start. thanx

The way Detroit has been playing this is worth a try. AI will still get his minutes.

ya... a better individual player. but without question Rip is a better team player than AI. And thats why the pistons played well tonight. Stuckey didnt have to constantly give it up to AI so he could shoot. thanx
