David Ortiz Topps Triple Threads Error???

I picked this up on the bay awhile back. Partly because it was cheap but also because it intrigued me. I have looked at other Ortiz cards like this before but cannot find any with a pinstripe. Not only does the jersey piece have a pinstripe but it is like the old school fabric and pinstripe. Now I have considered that this could be from a Twins uniform because Ortiz did play with them but the pinstripes are different colors. Also it could be that maybe the Redsox/Twins had a throwback uniform from a game that this was taken from. I am not for sure on that. Anyway I wanted to get other opinions about it. I attached a scan to the thread but here is a better one from my bucket. You may need to click on the image in the bucket to get a close up view. Anyway let me know what you think. Thanks.

huh that is very strange, I don't think the red sox have ever worn pinstripes. It might possibly be a twins/twins throwback jersey, but not sure why they would put it on that card..that is a weird card it almost looks like an old yanks jersey

That's my opinon. Looks like an old Yankee Jersey. Weird. I had a Mantle Jersey at one time and the cloth and stripe were really close. Same color stripe. I don't know.

Hey I think the strip is from the neck of the jersey of a Red Sox uniform

The Jersey would have to be from a retro jersey, it's off white. Redsox uni's are really white.

Yea, I thought so too. I only paid like $10 for it. So it's not like I have a lot invested in it. Just was looking for opinions on it.

Odd...my only idea would be that it came from a throwback jersey, but still it almost looks like a jersey from one of those old guys (Mantle, Maris, etc etc)

I guess we will never know. Cool still. Like I said I only have $10 invested in it. Off subject but nice to see a fellow Stl. collector on here.
