Topps UFC - How hard are Liddell and Dana White?
I haven't seen a Liddell or White hit Ebay yet. Any idea on the odds?

They are not in there at all, a number of names fell off the checklist when the product released. Also notably absent (to name a few) are Brock Lesnar, Matt Hughes, Rich Franklin, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Dan Henderson, Frank Mir, and I think two of the ring girls. I think the checklist dropped from 50 to around 37, pretty dirty bait-and-switch if you ask me.
It's pretty sad when the president of the UFC, who obviously wants this product to be a profitable success, won't even follow through with his autograph commitment :P

Exactly what Topps did with Mayo Football. I think it's disgusting that they keep on doing this. The reason those boxes went over $100 is because of fighters like Lesner and Liddell. Topps sucks.

i know lesner was all over the box and hes not in the product?!?! i would have loved to pull a dana white auto!!!

Something had to be left out for round two. It's tough not having some of the more noteables in there ( and I can't believe Dana White is not in there!), but I think they are waiting to release these. There are only so many fighters, you can't have all the studs in one series, it leaves nothing desireable for the next. I would like to see a subset of WEC in there as well.

i was pretty pumped when this first came out but i'm not even gonna buy any of it at all now. without those guys the checklist is kinda weak and there's alot fewer big hits to go for in the product. i'd rather wait for round two then spend $100+ for this.

I can't see why Topps would be intentionally "saving" the big name fighters for Round Two, if they want a new product to be successful they should be loading as many big names into the product as they can. There's nothing wrong with having the same fighters sign again for the second series, it gives the people who didn't get the autos they wanted the first time around another chance. Besides Round Two should hopefully have a different theme, so maybe they would have fighters pictured alone for example. I would much rather have a GSP auto if Parisyan wasn't plastered all over the card with him.
If that really is their strategy it's a bad one, because if I can't pull a GSP or Gracie auto from Round Two then I won't be buying any at all.

Great point, and I have to say I am agreeing more now than I would have before. I too think they should have stand alone auto's, not 2 guys pictured with one auto. There should be no reason why they can't set up a photo shoot like they do for football rookies to have some better shots of the fighter's.

weak! no arianny celeste auto, not to mention, others like dana white, bj penn, maybe even a royce gracie. they should make autos of all the ufc fighters who layed foot down in the UFC. legends like shamrock, kimo, gracie, vitor, the list goes on. if there were some autos of the above mentioned, topps would make a killing.
its pretty lame how they say only now mma/ufc has caught on fire. i and alot of my friends have been pretty hot for mma/ufc/pride since the mid 90's. back than i thought it was a hella of alot more entertaining to watch than boxing.
if i was ud, i would make some cards of elite xc and affliction. a fedor patch auto? id sell all my lebron rookies for one. but thats just me.
