Great article, jay, thanks for posting that. There was one particular line that sums everything up perfectly:
The powers in Congress -- unrebuked by Mr. Obama -- are ridiculing and punishing the very capitalists who are essential to a sustainable recovery.
They want people and businesses to spend money, to stimulate the economy, yet they are promising legislation that discourages them to do so. To be blunt about it, it's a noble idea to try to help the poor, but in a recession, the poor don't have the resources to spend to help the economy recover. Instead of encouraging the people who do have those resources to invest them in the economy, they're trying to take those resources and give them to the poor...basically, they expect businesses and the rich to pay for the economic recovery and the poor at the same time. This is really the worst time ever to start redistributing wealth. Even if I did agree with it, wait until the economy is recovered to start, otherwise it will take much longer to rebound.
