Greatest Gangster Film - ROUND 2
Round 1 went as expected for the most part. You can check that thread for the results, but here are the movies that are gone:
True Romance
LA Confidential
Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead
Miller's Crossing
Snatch
A Bronx Tale
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
Mean Streets
Now we bring in the big guns, the 8 first round byes. Definitely some interesting matchups though, not all are guaranteed locks. A couple I'm interested to see the result of: On the Waterfront/Reservoir Dogs, Carlito's Way/Road to Perdition, and Casino/The Departed.
Anyway, without further ado...on with Round 2! (I didn't intend for that to rhyme, I promise I'm not that cheesy) As with Round 1, the films are paired into their matchups, please vote for one movie only in each of the 8 matchups.

How can anyone not go with The Godfather? That movie is timeless

You really ought to have included The Godfather Pt. 2. It's better than most on that list.

I know and I thought about it...and I thought about putting The Godfather as Parts I and II. My final thought was that it's not better than Part I and I wanted to give the others a shot...

Goodfellas is one great movie aswell. Scarface of course is a classic. The most recent movie ive liked is American Gangster, one of the better gangster movies to come out this decade.

I think Goodfellas will probably be my #1...just all around everything I want in a gangster flick. I didn't see American Gangster, although I want to...Denzel hasn't been in many bad movies.

I went with the untouchables over the godfather,
godfather part II is much better than part I in my opinion,
and the Untouchables is probably the best gangsters movie of all time

sucks that it had to be Casino/Departed as I love them both, but Casino is a classic and Departed is too new.

If you put Pts. 1 and 2 together, it would've been the biggest thrashing in "sports" history.

I love Goodfellas, that movie just never gets old. You have to see American Gangster, it's a very well made movie.
