Yeah, you cant throw a shoe at the leader of a country. Shouldve got more than 3 years. I'm thinking 10 is appropriate.

yeah. despite the fact that many people hate bush, an attack on any president should get you more than 3 years in jail. it's pretty much telling criminals you can do more than that and still get off relatively easy.

This guy sent a symbolic message. I think three years is fair...he never struck the President. I wonder if any fighters will try to break him out of jail.

UPDATE: Court reduces sentence for Iraqi shoe-thrower

Iraq’s federal appeals court has reduced the sentence for the Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at then-President Bush at a news conference in December, his lawyer told CNN on Tuesday.

Muntadhar al-Zaidi now will serve one year in jail instead of three, the attorney said. Bush was able to duck, and was unhurt in the incident.
