Help me get over this please!
more than a year ago i traded a card that has recently been selling for anywhere between 200-325 on ebay. I probably ended up getting close to 20 sell value for it. This was when i first started getting familiar with trading on forums. It was actually on the old beckett site. anyhow. I figured my card had a bv of 100 and combined the 3 or 4 cards i got in return were 100 so i'd be good, right? Of course you all know, and i know now, that's WRONG. WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG. Every now and again i sneak a peek on ebay to see what that card is selling for and it is consistently in that range. how do i get over something like this? it's not ruining my life or anything, i just always get sick to my stomach when i see what its selling for. anyhow. can someone tell me another awful story like this so i can feel a little better. oh...by the way...here is the card i sold

look it up every now and again and remember me. and if you were the one who got this card from me, may you always remember how you ripped off some unsuspecting soul!

i know what you mean, when i first started trading it was one of my first trades on here, i traded a Carson Palmer 1/1 Auto for a Tom Brady/Laurence Maroney GU /25 (Maroney was a 3 color patch) and a Tom Brady GU...
like you, its not killing me, but i imagine i could've gotten easily something with a sv of 100+ at the time..Hidden Content

I have a one that should make you feel better. When I first started trading on here I had pulled an UD Mystery Iconic cuts redemption. I got the card, and it ended up being a Bud Wilkinson #'d 1/2. I didn't know who he was and I didn't know that very low numbered cards were worth alot more. Well, ever since I was younger I always wanted a John Elway rc, but never had anything good enough to trade for it. Anyway I ended up trading the Iconic Cut for an Elway rc, and then guy on here also wanted the Cut auto showed me the card on Ebay, and it went for $328!! I could have bought so many other rc's I needed for my PC. I had never pulled anything of that value, and I let slip right threw my fingers. I have no hard feelings for the guy I traded it to, just wish I had known more about the card before I let go. Well, I hope that makes you feel better man! Sorry for the long read.

You can't collect without eventually having a few of these stories, so don't worry about it. Think about all of the people who went bankrupt buying up all the new product, now worthless, in the 80s and 90s. At least you still have your health and your shirt (financially speaking.) And this experience will help you avoid similar mistakes in the future, so it will be well worth the money.
