Should I be happy with this grade?
I'm a novice when it comes to bkb and grading, but I have had this Michael Jordan rookie since 1990 and decided to send it in to bgs. It came back with a 7.5 overall and subgrades of centering 7.5, edges 9, corners 8.5, and surface 7.5. The card looks sweet in its sealed holder and I would be satisfied with the 7.5 except that the subgrades seemed to warrant an 8. Any advice on resubmission?

well i am 90% positive, that when grading beckett wont grade any higher than any one of the lowest grades, which is probably why you got the 7.5. Centering doesnt look to good, so it might not get any higher of a grade

That's what I thought at first, but I did see a few listed like a 9.5 with a 9 surface and 8.5 with 8 centering. But the card looks near mint to me, so I'm thinking hold on...thanks

just keep it as that. the most you can get is an 8. and since you got 2 7.5 its gonna be hard to get an 8
you can only get .5 higher then the lowest grade.

I agree.. I think it's the fact that there are two 7.5s is what's going to make it tough to get that 8. If there was merely a single 7.5, the other subs would easily get the 8. Either way it's a nice card.

Very true: BGS will ONLY grade .5 above the LOWEST sub-grade, so it's probably not worth sending it in again for a .5 increase. Still a beast of a card though.
