Dallas Fort Worth Area Upcoming Card Shows
As you all know, the DFW area has not had a card show in at least 6 months. As DFW collectors, are y’all still interested in card shows? Personally I miss the heck out of the old days when we had 2 a month and sometimes 2 on the same weekend!!!!! For whatever reason they just stopped. There are two shows in the next two months that I figured I should advertise; the details as advertised in Beckett are below.
Apr 18 - Lewisville La Quinta Inn Lewisville , 1657 S Stemmons Fwy (I-35), 9-5, 10T - Trey 214-354-1554 [email protected]
May 29-31 - Arlington Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way, F 1-7 Sa 10-5 Su 10-4, 100T, a:$5 - June Van Zant 817-577-4445 [email protected]
First, is a small card show at the La Quinta Inn in Lewisville TX (just north of HWY 121 on I-35) on April 18th that I am throwing with 2 other members of this site (BGeiger21 and K.Pop) and a good friend who doesn’t trade online. It is a small 10 table show that we are using to see how much interest the DFW area still has in small to mid size card shows. If this small show is a success we have plans to host a larger card show (20-30 tables) sometime in July. We all love to trade and are doing this for fun, we’re not out to get your money to pay for our over priced tables like you find at some shows. This was cheap to throw together and we are all in it for the fun of selling, buying, and trading! The show will be pretty laid back and probably a very good time. Really hoping we see a lot of interest so we can start having some mid-size shows here in DFW on a regular basis. The big three sports will all be very well represented at this show, hockey and racing will be pretty sparse. Hope to see you there!!!!
Second, is a very large card show (100 tables) that we have here once a year and it is a blast!! I always make good trades at this show and seem to find excellent deals on cards and especially boxes. It is at the Arlington Convention Center (walking distance from the Ballpark at Arlington) and this year includes quite a few autograph guests including Ian Kinsler, Bob Lilly, and Rollie Fingers. Admission is $5.00, I’ve found that it’s always worth the admission. This show also has a ton of autographed memorabilia (jerseys, bats, balls, paintings, etc.) It’s the biggest show DFW gets and it’s a can’t miss in my book. All sports and non-sports cards and memorabilia are well represented at this show. Hope to see you there!!!!
Also, if any of you would be interested in setting up at our next card show in July please let me know as I am working on a list of people who would like to get into this if the interest is there. I do my best to keep per table cost as low as I possible can, so cost should not be an issue for most. You must be over 18 to set up.
