Yes. The key is to run regularly and gradually increase your time for each run. When I first started last year, I couldn't even run a 12 minute mile, but I kept at it until I could do almost 8. By missing a few weeks with an infection, I need to build it up again.

it took me 8 weeks to get from 12:12 to 9:50 i jogged a decent amount everyday

Cool. You'll get there, then. It took me a few months to build mine up.

I can sprint a 1/4 mile in 1:14. I can run a whole mile in like 8 minutes. Terrible stamina. But, I stopped running a long, long time ago.

Usually run it around 7 minutes, last week I ran it in 6 minutes and 34 seconds, back in high school I used to run a mile in just over 5 minutes, those were the days

My best was around 5:30 - 6 minutes in high school. :)

I hardly ever run just one mile anymore. I usually do 2 miles in about 14-15 minutes now. I did a Air Force tested 3 miles in about 22 minutes 5 months ago. But I'm now 36, so I'm older than the young pups that have responded so far.

I haven't run competitively in 10 years or so but I have been trying to get back in shape and can do about a 6:30 mile give or take
