your thoughts on relic cards that are not game used?
what are your thoughts on relic cards that are not game used? i mean does someone really want a relic of a pair of suit pants worn by some drunk player who farted in them while on a team flight from kansas city to florida? hahahaha

Yeah, I'm not too fond of them either. Anybody can throw something on during a photoshoot and have the items cut up into cards and label them "event worn" cards.

What's the difference between that and a GU uniform that some player ran up and down a court/field and sweated their brains out in? I mean, if you think about it, and GU piece can be gross...so, personally, it really doesn't matter to me, as long as it was worn by who they say it was worn by.

Chalk me up to the not fond of them side. I can see if they're from a huge event where they have some sort of meaning to them but not just a press conference or similar type of thing. I really would rather know that my piece was at the very least a part of a real game, and would actually like to know which game if at all possible. I'm not saying all pieces must be from a world series, superbowl or other event but it at least should've been worn on the field during a game.
I suppose we should be happy to know that a certain person at the very least wore said piece but it adds a little something to know that it came from a game too.

i dont really care either way... i kinda like a little difference in cards... i like the warning track/dirt/base/net type cards.... it is something different than a collection full of white gu jersey cards that all look the same

If they showed you 2 jerseys, with 1 being used in a SI photo shoot for 20 minutes of sitting, the other used in 5 straight NBA games would you know the difference if they cut a little section out? I really dont care....just my opinion

Most are rookie photoshoot jerseys, they get the product of the rookie out there quicker, the demand is up on rookies every year, so it makes sense, but ya I like game used better

I don't care - to me, it is more about the card looking nice rather than obsessing over a little piece of jersey or whatever.
If imagine if I was so adamant about having game-used stuff, I would shell out the cash to get the full jersey/bat/gloves/etc...
