Ebay Question
Hey guys, I recently put up on ebay an 86 Steve Young RC, I started it off at .99 and put a Buy Now of $25. Well it sold tonight, but it sold for $61. I already have the money in my paypal account. Why would someone pay that much when he could have bought it now for $25. In no way am I complaining, I was just wondering...

I'm pretty sure the person who ended up winning it saw it after there was already a bid on the item, and therefore never even saw the buy-it-now option

So once someone bids on it, the Buy It now goes away? I did not know that...That makes alot more sense.

Yeah it disappears unless you set it up where it keeps the Buy It Now.

only reason I could think of is they think it will grade out very nicely... But yeah like everyone else said the BIN goes away if a bid is placed and there is no reserve- nice sell though

ive had that happen a few times. i had a band used guitar that i set at buy it now for $5 and it ended up going for like $40. it happens every once in a while. You never know how much the stuff you sell is gonna be worth to somebody else.

Good deal for you. People should check ebay more often.

It was a very good deal for me. The card an 86 topps young rc graded 10 by GEM. I was hoping to get around 15-25, and was amazed when I checked it, and saw what it went for.

The buy it now goes away once the price goes over $25. The person probably really wanted the card and got caught up in a bidding war! Good ****!
