    Hi guys,

    Newbie to both here and the card collecting hobby in general, but a long time sports fan. I've been wanting to start collecting cards since the day my beloved Rays selected Mr Evan Longoria in the 2006 draft and I saw some videos of his swing and countless scouting reports - man crush at first sight really - however, it was extremely confusing so I gave it a miss and went back to plain old spectating. I've now become newly motivated and read up on the hobby to the point where I think I know what I'm doing, and I've got my first few cards off ebay. Set-building looks quite exciting to me as well so I've ordered a couple hobby boxes of both 08 Topps Chrome and 08 UD Masterpieces to get me started.

    Can't wait to dive into this place fully, I just hope my location doesn't make things overly difficult when it comes to trades and all.

    Welcome to SCF. Glad you decided to join the site! This is the best place to help build your collection and trade cards. As a red sox fan, me and evan don't get along so well, but I can't hide the fact that he is very talented. Great to see people from other countries getting into baseball.
