My first baseball game, May 2004 I was 27 at the time (Grew up very poor on Long Island, never got to go a Mets game, just watched them on Channel 9 on a rabbit ear antenna tv). Anyhow Manchester NH and the game was Binghamton Mets and NH Fisher Cats. I was like a little kid because I was determined to get Howard Johnson's auto (one of my favorite players as a kid).
Waiting for HOJO, I see some Mets leaving the clubhouse early and a Gill Stadium, the visiting team had to cross through where the fans went to their seats. Well the first Mets player out was this 3B prospect named David Wright. My eyes literally bugged out of my head and I turned to my friend and said "Holy cow, that's David Wright - he could be the next big thing!" My friend says "Well go get his autograph"
Funny thing is it was only myself and this six year old kid who go over to him and ask for his autograph. Wright looks at us and says "you want my autograph? Sure" He signed the kids shirt and my roster sheet from the program. He really is a "down to earth" guy. That is a memory I will always treasure.
Oh and I did get HoJo's autograph, but after Wright it was kind of an anticlimax. Also had to choose between Scott Kazmir and Justin Huber when they came out. Needless to say I made the wrong choice.

my best ones
i would have to say my best baseball in person would have to be russell martin and andre ethier, both were very friendly and talked to me for a bit, and got pictures with both
best basketball one would have to be magic johnson, i have to admit i was totally starstruck when i met him i was fumbling what i was going to say and just ended up saying i was very excited to meet him, and he said "it shows" that made me smile even more, and got a picture with him, but a close second is luke walton got to ask him a few ?'s , took a picture with him, signed about a dozen things for me and my wife, even got to tell him a story of how my grandpa sat next to his father bill walton in a plane in 1977 heading back to portland,or and told him my grandpa said he was a sweaty hippy, he liked that one and even chuckled.
best football one or my only football in person would be jerry rice, when i got him to sign a football and an 8x10
and my best pro wrestling auto would be stone cold steve austin when i got him to sign a copy of his movie "the condemmed" got a picture with him and i said to him, i liked when he'd gave mcmahon the stunner for the 1st time, and he says "yeah that was a good one"Last edited by chrisborene; 03-23-2009 at 09:05 PM.

Rudy Guiliani is one of my favorites. I got him at the Buick Classic in 2003. He was a very nice guy and talked to people. Of course he might have been a little more at ease since this area was not a general public area.
Another one of my favorites is my first baseball one. Mackey Sasser was with the MAriners in 1993 when I approached him for an autograph during BP while he was behind home plate. He was talking to his agent or someone like that and told him to hang on while he signed for me. Very nice guy. I'll always remember his mouth full of chew.
Then there were all the times I met Penske racing's drivers like Emmerson Fittipaldi, Al Unser, Jr., and Paul Tracy and in the old days Rick Mears and Danny Sullivan. Those guys were all awesome and I have a 16x20 of Emmo, Unser, and Tracy finishing 1-2-3 signed by all of them.
My fiancee says hers is Johnny Damon at the billion dollar seats (they weren't really this expensive but they felt like it) we had at a game last year. She also says Bobby Murcer right before he died was a great one as well.
