Ray33, I agree. I know why they do it... hopeing someone will offer something really sweet thats worth even more than the high end card they have out. But they only want certain cards.

My opinion on big trades is that both people should be equally happy and unhappy. You should feel like you got a card you really want, but also had to give up something really good to get it. If youre both trading non-PC for PC, then you should both be happy. Anything else, and the trade wasnt a good one.

A new one... someone on ebay messaged me to tell me I was selling a card too cheap.... even though at it's $35 BIN OBO, no one has purchased yet, and the last one went $23. I set it where i did because i dont care if i sell that one or not, and yet some d-bag decides its his job to tell me my card is too cheap.

Maybe he thought you didn't realize the true value of the card and wanted to help you out. The guy didn't know you or know that you are knowledgable about hockey. He probably thought he was doing a good deed.

A month or two ago I stumbled on a posting where a guy was offering a Buy It Now Lemieux RC at a reasonable price but had spelled Lemieux wrong. I e-mailed the guy and told him of the spelling error and suggested that was why he was getting no hits. He thanked me, let the sale run it's course then relisted with the correct spelling.

I see nothing wrong with collectors looking out for one another. If that makes me a d-bag...I can live with it.

I'm not a fan of people not responding to PMs, especially if they are the initial PMer. I get irked, for no real reason, when I see threads offering X amount of dollars for best card(s). I think it just bugs me because 90% of the time they never offer an idea of what they are looking for, just whoever has the best offer. Kind of like in that episode of Seinfeld where Jerry broke up with a girl because she ate her peas one at a time.

Im sorry I wasnt clear. Im glad people look out for each other, but he's basing in on "what the experts at the card shop he goes to said, because they're really smart". Evidently, It is Mike Weirs first jersey/shirt card in 3 years, should be selling a lot more. Its not.

I'm joining the thread a little late, but I have a couple pet peeves....

Every time I try to make a trade for anything Steve Mason (my favorite player), the other person always wants more value because "his cards are going to skyrocket any day now." It's taken four months for his Young Gun to double in value, and it's never really skyrocketed. So my collection is still without a Mason Young Gun.

I also can't stand it when people don't use at least semi-proper English. I understand not using a comma where it should be used, but I hate it when people say "can u plz cmb 4 ur (fill in the blank)". If you can't use semi-proper English, it appears fishy to me and I feel a little uncomfortable trading with you.

Thanks for the pet peeve/rant thread!

I have to agree with you. I can't stand the way the english language has been *******ized. If you want to use texting language then get a cell phone! btw icsyb, say what?
