No I deliberately omitted them - second-tier group much like Backstrom, Gagner, and Lucic last year.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

i still think u cant base value on one good season. look at franzen last season u could pick up his ygs for under 5 easy then after he went on a tear in the playoffs they were selling for 30, and now where are they he is forgotten again. I only started collecting in 05/06, so i would wonder if raycroft cards were high the year he was rookie, did he win roy???? and to see where they are today. like that one post said, mason is a long term and i agree don't price a card at what it could be worth in the future, when i make trades i like to make them so both parties are happy with the cards they are getting. mind you i wouldnt trade a crosby spa rc, for a hiller yg :P but you get the point. as for if columbus gets knocked out then what, i think it depends how well mason plays. if they lose 4-0 to detroit and he makes 40 saves a night and they lose 2-1 and 3-1 etc i think he will stay put in the hobby. as for national exposure i am in leaf region so i never gave that much thought about the jackets national exposure.

Expect a strongly worded letter from Mr. & Mrs. Tavares coming your way soon! LOL

The difference between the 2nd tier guys last year and this year is that the guys from last year all made an immediate impact in the NHL. Like you said, Filatov is a prospect, he ain't in the show...yet. When he arrives and makes his splash, expect folks to take notice.

Also, as somebody made reference to future value on a card, I like to bring up a fun story to show just how loopy some folks can be. Last spring somebody on the Bay had an Andrei Kostitsyn Black Diamond Gemography in his store for a $30BIN w/BO. I had to chuckle at that one, having picked one up at a show for 5 bucks a couple weeks earlier. I put in an offer of 60% BV (which was and remains under $10) and a quick message - he responded by saying that he fully expected the value on the card to jump and was quite prepared to hold on to it until the fall. Well, it's late March, and he's still got it.

Tell them to direct their letter to THN, not me.

And I think the Kostitsyn guy makes a good point. If you can't get what you want for a card, keep it. Either you will or you won't and if you can afford to hold it, it can only benefit you to hold a card when its low. If it goes down to a common, you've lost $5, but if you sell too soon, you lose a lot more; if thats how you look at it.

This is how I see it:

if the Mason YG is selling on ADVERAGE of $35 dollars. People usually sell cards at half BV. Hence this is why I am looking for 70. It is not in my interest to trade for something with less sell value. obiously when the book value is higher in next months beckett, i dont be looking for a premium.

Remember when you told me I was asking too much for my Mason Rookie Materials and another member verified the BV? How can you justify doing the same thing when you gave me crap about it? That's called being a hypocrite if you ask me

One went for $50, in what looks to me like shill bidding. Theyve been averaging about $25 online. I can get $30 here in CBus, and that to is what called out the question in the first place, that online I could get more than I can here. I was mad when I missed out on one for $20 from a local vendor who prices his hockey too low.

I've not been able to pull anything of his this year, nor Stamkos, so I went ahead and bought my Stamkos, I may as well buy a Mason to boot...good call, I think he's got the goods to stay on the big club.
