Question Have you ever seen another KG Autographed 97-98 JSY Buyback ?

Today I received one PM from one forum I subscribed.

/I had one in college and it was stolen and sold by my roommate (along with a couple other high end cards),
being from Minnesota, it was my pride and joy at the time and I have never been able to find another one. It's my most wanted card in the entire world./

I'm just curious Because this Buyback was released 2 cards as my knowledge.

But I haven't never seen and herard another one since 2001.
SO I assumed this card is 1/1.

I won't care if this card is 1/1 or 1/2. But just curious...=)
Question is the same like title.

Have you ever seen or heard another KG Autographed Buyback ?

    2000-01 Ultimate Buyback - Autographed on 1997-98 Game Jersey(1 : 2,500) 1/1 ? or 1/2 ? - ODD 1 : 225

    Graded to keep permenently.

(Small Episode about that card in my country - South Korea)
Many south Korean(Korea is my residence) have found fault with me and this card. lol

I posted that card with kind description around 2001-2002 then I quit my hobby for a while.

After a few years later, I came across one thread about this card.

They uploaded my pictures without my permission or favor and they found fault with me and this card like this.

"He said that card was released only 2 but who knows? It's only his insisting !"

"IF that card was released over 20 cards, I would buy whole 20 cards !"
(I won't forget those kind comment for me and this card. =) )

But Those poor guys haven't had (and will not have) this HUMBLE card and I have had this REALLY Humble Card.

The Point what I want to tell you about this episode...

I'm really happy because members of this precious forum has not been like that Losers in my country.

(After seeing that thread, I watermarked many my cards to protect those Losers in my country act like owner but don't have anything.)

Thank you for looking and do me a favor about my broken English,Please. =)

Yeah, I rememer I wanted to send you a pm before regarding information about this card, since I originally thought that they only made a 97-98 Auto/Jersey of Michael Jordan. But of course, this is a buyback, so it's much different.

I initially thought that maybe they made 21 KG autos/jersey (to his jersey number, much like the Jordan #/23). But if you look at most of the buybacks of KG and other players in 2001, the print run is usually 1-5, there's only one Buyback that's numbered to #/21 and that's the 2001-02 Ultimate Collection Jersey, a very common jersey.

But that's that 2001 buybacks, this is a 2000 buyback, and 2000 buybacks were much fewer, and I assume much more scarce, so i would assume the print run would be 1-3 at most for this card, since it's KG's first jersey card and much rarer.

Also, you know that I've been searching for 90's jersey cards for well over a year now, and I have yet to see any of the 97-98 auto/jersey buyback cards, assuming that they also made autos of other player from the 97-98 jersey set. And if the print run was high on these buybacks, I would assume that I would atleast see one within this past year.

So yeah, I think it's safe to say that the print run for this card is 1-2 or at most 3. Of course, you could try calling upper deck and see if they give a legitimate answer, but from my experience, they don't really like to disclose this kind of information.

I hope this information helps bro!

Thank you for your long explanation !!!

    always appreciate =)

well , I dig my HDD then I found something pics about Ultimate Buyback.
(I already have many cards not my owned but really georgeous pictures not uploaded yet at my PB. and most of them are 90's and pre 2000's.)

    And I haven't considered 2001-02 Ultimate Buyback.

ODD of 2001-02 Ultimate Buyback is really low.

But Ratio of 2000-01 Ultimate Buyback is crazy. 1:225

Can you imagine that ratio? You can that each pack(packaged as box shape) around 200-220$ DLVD now.

At that time it was around 500-600$ per pack.

Left one - Right one is first Ultimate Baseball pack

During my digging, I noticed only limited, limited and limited cards were autographed.
(In other words, like masterpiece..so your comment would be really right !)

    Voila !!

All from 2000-01 Ultimate and cards are all Buybacks.

The only thing I could find as autographed were only 2 cards except KG of mine.

This is malone-32 AKA hardaway-1(Taiwan Crazy Anfernee Hardaway Collector)'s

Autograph looks weird but it would not be fake.

The only thing I could find as autographed were only 2 cards except KG of mine.

Anfernee Hardaway is Crazy Meaningful Because that is only 1 / 1
(And he didn't autograph on any Orlando Magic Game Jersey Card)

But Kobe is really beautiful and nice but there is more beautiful one from 1999-00 UD and UD Encore.
(So not meaningful like Penny and KG)

    And another Buybacks were non-autographed.

Throughly this buybacks, some kinds were graded, the others were not.

I saw another buybacks(all non-autographed) not listed below

1997-98 Upperdeck Kevin Garnett (the same card as mine but non-autographed and Graded with SGC)

1999-00 Upperdeck, Upperdeck Encore Allen Iverson

and below 2 cards are mine

    For KG

That card # / 21 was from 1999-00 Upperdeck and Upperdeck Encore.
(from Upperdeck # / 21 and from encore # 21..of course autographed on 1999-00 season UD and UD Encore Jersey)

not mine - owner is a valued member of other forum.(MJ fan)

from 2001-02 Ultimate Buyback. But not meaningful as 1/1

But UD Version has a little problem.

Because of UD commercial, UD released more than 21 cards.
(not from pack version AKA UDA)

so UD ruined value of below precious cards.

    Real UD Version

suspicious but not fake - non #ed

    UDA
