I appreciate the gesture...but $100,000 doesn't seem like much when compared to a $3+ trillion budget deficit. If he really wants to save tax payers money, let's look at something that might actually make a difference.

Yet if some conservative watch dog group came out blasting Obama for spending $100,000 without mentioning the "tradition", you would probably be all over him.

Actually, I get very little info from Conservative watch dog groups...most of my news comes from CNN, a left-leaning news source.

If the story didn't mention the tradition and made it seem like he was the first to do that, yes I might be upset about it. If it wasn't tradition, I would have a problem with it. But once I found out that most Presidents did it, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I think you would do the same thing in the other direction.
