How should i organize my collection?
I'm starting to buy a lot more cards for my PC and i'm getting a couple of duplicates, so i thought now is the time to begin listing all the cards i have so i won't get that many duplicates anymore.
What is the best way to organize them?
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, or another program that i can get for free?
thanks
Jesse

i would personally go with excel just because i think it organizes them better and i think it has an automatic alphabetical order thing.

Excel...it is much easier to modify if you would like to sort them in a different manner (alphabetical, by year, ect..)

if you are bored, try doing it by player height, subcategorize by player weight . . .

My option; do excel and if it a specific player, I sat down and did EVERY single Luis Gonzalez card (2930 cards total) and I have it saved on my computer, once I get a card I highlight it on the computer and I also have "hardcopy" (paper) that I have in the even I go to the card shop or shows. It helps to keep it organized.
If it is a team/group of players, I would print out cells from excel and write the card in under the players category. Just some help to organize.
I am actually in the middle of compliling a checklist of every Topps base set from 1984 (birth year) until now, one worksheet has base, one haschrome, traded/updates and highlight, and so on. I want to compile every topps card from 1984 to present and just having that is a huge help when it comes to avoid buying doubles.
Hope that this helps you
