huh? that is duplication of classic design of 1991-92 Upperdeck !!

RCs

I think UD revealed their problem.
They don't have any good creative card desinger like 90's any more.
So they have only renewed old version.Last edited by nbacard; 04-02-2009 at 04:50 AM.

UD should have made each card resemble that players rookie year or something. That way they could have been lazy but switch it up at the same time. They could have used all the different designs from the past as part of the final farewell. Instead we get 91-92 over and over again.

I wouldnt worry about that design. Correct me if Im wrong....But, I'm pretty sure that's just the design for the base cards. And lets face it...the base cards pretty much get thrown into a box, never to be seen again. Its the Autos/Inserts that we are looking for...and they are different than that boring design.

The 1992-93 Upper Deck McDonald's set strongly resembled the 1991-92 Upper Deck set, but this design is pretty much an exact repeat of 1991-92 Upper Deck.
I am not a fan of the design, either, even in its original form, so repeating it seems like another sucker attempt at nostalgia.
As for throwing base cards in a box, there are actually still many set collectors out there - although if this is a high end set, there will probably be fewer people going after the base set since high end caters to a completely different demographic, one that seldom puts together sets unless the sets themselves are auto/GU/patch, etc. The other drawback to this is for player and team collectors who have a hard time finding high end base because of all the box tossing that goes around these days. Try finding some base of UD Portraits from just a few years back, for instance - you probably won't..

The base cards from Lineage resemble 1991-92 Upper Deck, but the rookie cards and most of the inserts resemble 1992-93 Upper Deck, which I think is great. 1992-93 Upper Deck had one of my favorite designs ever, and I think it's fun to see those classic inserts brought back.
What's creepy, though, is they seem to have made a set of Jordan cards with one card for every game he ever played on the Bulls...in other words, about 1100 cards. That's insane.

Exactly...zero creativity.
Well said!
Can't say I agree with you there, sorry.
Precisely!
Whoa...that's crazy!

Who didnt love those back in the day?
Kinda like what Topps did with Stadium Club last year with Beam Team, they will have auto versions of Flight Team and 20,000 Point club,
