1 Box 2007 SP Authentic Break - Great pull gone to waste???

Stopped by the shop today to get some more Sp Authentic Hockey, when I finished with the Hockey, I saw they had a box of 2007 Sp Authentic for $65, I thought it was a pretty good price and grab it. I pulled a Felix Pie By the Letter Autograph and Adrian Gonzalez by the letter Autograph after the first 8 packs. I figured the box was over when 3rd to the last pack I saw this baby





This redemption is for the Full Name Set of Alex Gordon, I got really excited until I saw the dreaded expiration date (See Scan). Anyways I called UD right away, the lady at first said they cannot honor expired redemptions, then she asked me to give her the code, so I did. Then she said they will honor this one and asked for my address, phone number, and email. However I didn't get any confirmations on my email or my UD redemption account. So I guess I shouldn't be happy too early until I get it. I will call UD again tomorrow to re-confirm whether or not they will honor this. It certainly is one of the coolest pulls Ive had. Wish me luck

Update on this: I just called Upper Deck and the guy said they are ready to ship me the Full Letter set for this redemption.

He said that apparently they also felt that 1 year was too low amount of time for these redemptions and will extend them until Novermber 11, 2009. I think it's cool that UD decided to do this cause I remember hearing about how Topps would not honor expired redemptions even if its 1 day late. I remember pulling a 06/07 Topps Finest Kevin Durant blue refractor redemption that was only expired for 1 month and they refused to give me anything for it. Props to UD for being more generous on that part. Now I just hope Gordon has a breakout season.
