    Does this bother anyone else?

I don't think the POTUS should ever bow to a king.

I understand bowing is showing reverance to the person you're meeting, but if you're at least on the same level, as a President is, I wouldn't think it necessary. It doesn't really bother me personally, just seems like a silly thing to do for the President of the most powerful country on Earth.

To me it shows subservience when there should be none.

A bow is a much different matter in Muslim culture and all it does is make America look weak.

True, but I'm pretty sure he didn't mean it that way, he was just being polite...ignorantly polite, but polite nonetheless. Some Muslims may take it the wrong way, but I doubt the King or the Saudi government does.

we already look weak to them

15 of their citizens (allegedly) attacked us on 9.11....and instead of asking them what's up with that, we go to war with afghanistan and censor anything to do with saudi arabia from the 9.11 report

the bow by obama is weak, i agree...but he's just doing what he's been told

Yeah I guess at best he made an ignorant move, which doesn't really make me feel any better for what its worth.

Agreed...if I were President, I wouldn't feel the need to bow down to any human...well maybe in some Asian countries where it's customary, but that's it!

    ...oh and my wife...

    but that's really it!

I think it also has to do with Obama being over there and abiding to their traditions, I'm pretty sure if the king was visiting the states that he would offer a handshake to Obama in an equal type of respect

Why should we ask a country why their terrorist citizens attacked us? They had as much control over them as the US had over Charles Manson.

The bow doesn't bother me. Every leader needs to respect each other. We should think of something to make other leaders to do...
