Best way to ship a card?

Any tips on shipping a card to prevent damage? I just sold a couple cards on eBay and I really want to package them as safe as possible so buyers get their hard earned moneys worth. I know most people just ship the card in a toploader inside a bubble envelope and that's it but is there something to put the toploader in first to help? Thanks for any info!

Well if its superhighend i usually put it in a penny sleeve, toploader, two cardboard pieces (also the worthless pieces of cardboard that are found in packs work as well.) Put one of those on each side of the toploader the card is in and put all that in a team bag. There is no way it can possibly get damaged without somebody opening the package and just tearing up the card themselves lol. hope that helps. thanx! :)

You can put the card in a teambag and in between two toploaders.

Use a penny sleeve inside the toploader. they're super cheap, and they prevent damage to the card surface and corners when the postal worker slings the package into the burlap bin. Then, pinch the open end of the toploader together and put a piece of tape over it. I wish all Ebay sellers followed this model.

    i normally do this:
    *Penny sleeve
    *top loader
*top loader pinched shut and taped together (i usually only use one piece of *tape, excessive tape can get really annoying IMO)
*all gets put into a team baggy and sealed
*then i usually tape the team baggy down so it doesn't get opened up during delivery
    *then bubble mailer of course

I agree with everything said above. Given you said you sold on ebay, make sure you have electronic tracking and that the buyers address is confirmed. Will cost you .18 if you print it online (DC) or I think its .55 at the post office. Without these two you will loose any and/or all disputes with paypal. If its high end, pay for the insurance, this is just an extra premium to help cover you, or when it doubt use registered mail. It takes an entirly different path than standard mail and pretty much ensures it wont get lost or mishandled. If your over 250 bucks, it must have signature confirmation, not just delivery confirmation. Any questions, just shoot me a PM.

I agree with everything stated so far, but I wanted to add in one more tidbit of information - when putting on the pennysleeve, put it on upside down, so the open end of the penny sleeve is at the bottom of the toploader when placed inside - that way, if the card is to slip around and bump the tape at the top of the toploader, it's just the penny sleeve that gets stuck to the tape.

All mentioned above are great, I wish more ebayers and people in general would follow this rule...I have a couple of horror stories about what happens when not packaged correctly and will post pics sometime in the near future lol.
