first Moreno cards to come out, so that explains a little bit. otherwise i would exactly call .99 and 3.25 "heated bidding wars"

The Moreno is actually a decent looking card...most of the ones like this look extremely low quality.

I think most of these types of cards are local/regional brands that are printed for promotional purposes. I know there's some small-time card printer in Tennessee (or used to be) called Smoky Mountain Cards or something like that...I remember I had a Heath Shuler from them. Usually they're low quality, low print run, regionally distributed, have advertisements on the back. I'd say the only pro for them is they're relatively rare, but I don't think many of them are ever really worth any thing.

These are modern day "broders". They'll print another 5000 once those sell. Absolutely nothing legitimate about them, no licenses and probably violating copyright on the photos. I bet they have some cut rate grading company grade a bunch of their printer-fresh cards as 10 GEM-MT.

okay I gotta ask before I comment on this thread, WHAT THE HECK IS THAT YELLOW THING! I might want to copy it as my desktop wallpaper

oh and my comment, ya sometimes collectors get caught up in the bidding and if they see something they must have they'll get it for whatever the final price, and $20 and up is not alot of money, so they'll pay over bv without feeling too bad.
I've seen this in my auctions how a $5 card sells for $15 and up, its every sellers dream.
