Smile Recommended Anfernee Hardaway Cards List

Last time, I made Tim Duncan list. and most of cards were from 90's.

    https://www.sportscardforum.com/showthread.php?t=753994

Today, I received one asking about making Penny Hardaway list. =)

I have liked Penny Hardaway but not special like crazy Penny Fan.
(Even I have Penny PMG Green though...)

Because most of 90's fans have liked Penny and Hill. =)

But I started to collect a few Penny cards then I could get not many but not less nice cards.

Well, I would make list based on 90's and non-serial #ed and Buyback.

Furthermore, only Magic cards can be considered.

In short, this list is not for Hardcore Penny Fan, but for 90's era nostalgia peoples likes Penny.

    Well, here we go.

Ah..the thing I want to tell prior to make this thread, this is my subjective opinion..=)

SO if someone thinks "why that guy pick that card" like thoughts, don't be serious,Please..Just one OP could be considered. =)
(Of course, I would not have to say like this. But there are many hardcore Penny fans I think. SO I want to tell this. =) )

    List would be from 1993-1995.
(Because there are too many cards from 1996...
I will make another thread if someone ask about that and I have time in the future.=) )

    College Brand

    Classic 4 Sports Acetate card(middle)

This card gives feeling like Slick Silver from 1995-96 Metal.

Total is 66,000 prints but meaningless. =)

    1993-94
Finest RC (or RC Refractors Parallel)

If you could see this card in 1993-94(If you were a kid or not), you might know how much it was.

    It was 400$ BV.

The reason why I said BV, it was crazy sensational.

Maybe now a days BV would be around 50 or 60.

But important thing is most of Penny Finest RC(especially for refractors) were faded like Dino Radja and Toni Kukoc.(Both of them are also class of 1993).

And Penny RC Refractors is not expensive anylonger.

But if you don't want to spend much money(yah..bad economy..lol) , only Penny Finest RC is still nice.

    1993-94 Hoops Magic's all Rookie
    (no pic)
Magic said "Penny is like my mirror image"(not exact phrase but it was like that).

As real, he was one of the tallest PG in NBA history.
(Think about 90's small PGs..like Dana Barros, Avery Johnson and Tyrone Bogues...)

    1993-94 Stadium Club Beam Team

This card was really rare. Not now a days though...

As 2nd year beam team, this card is really gorgeous and shinny.

    1993-94 Ultra Famous Nick Name

If you are Penny Fan, you would not have to get Magic's all rookie.

    But this card is essential.

I don't tell more thing about this card.
(If you buy and match SHAQ with this card ,it would be better looking =) )

    1993-94 Upperdeck SE All-Star East

This card is rookie season insert.

But UD's prediction(?) looks briliant..future NBA All Star...

    1993 Upperdeck Holojam

not from pack. motion looks really nice

    1994-95
    Collector's Choice Gold Signature # 1

In 90's, card # was also meaningful.

For example, MJ was 23 and Shawn Kemp was 40.

But if many players match with the same #, the most important or valued player got that # at card set.

Furthremore, there were only limited autograph around that time.
(And Penny Autograph didn't exist at that time.)

Very nice sig and really shinny.

But if you don't want to spend much money, Silver Sig is also nice card and choice.

    1994-95 Emotion Set
(First and Last card like 2PAC and Biggy Combo single)

Like set name, this set is really nice.

I want to find fault with this card. Because opponent is not Reggie Miller.

    That looks Scott Burrell.
(MJ could not be on that card. Because he was retired.)

Except that, this set is beautiful. =)

    1994-95 Finest Refractors
    (no pic)
    It was crazy Expensive.

MJ would be 1,350$ at peak.

    Penny would be 600$..

Besides that, 1994-95 finest refractors was the most shinny refractors ever.

    1994-95 Hoops # 264, # 423 (Base)

    # 264 is all star MVP scene.

    This is # 423..and meaningful..why?

Front of this card is Grant Hill.

    1994-95 Hoops Big Numbers

Very nice and really meaningful card.

544 is his asssist in his rookie season.

And there are 3 version like above picture.

    1994-95 Hoops Power Rating

If I were not wrong, this card is really cheap.

But look at his shooting form..

1994-95 SP Champion Ship Future Playoffs All Star (and Diecut)

Really weird element card...not like regular card..=)

Only Sophomore season but Future Play off all stars.
(UD predicted this? Because Penny + SHAQ matched up Rockets =) )

But right diecut card is really really really hard to find or get.

    ODDs is 1:300

But if you don't want to spend much money. It would be also nice buying MJ with Penny

1994-95 Stadium Club Rising Star/ Team Of the future.

pic of rising Star would be with posted cards in 1996-97 season.

color of these cards are really shinny and beautiful.

furthermore, title of card was well named.

    1994-95 Topps Base or Spectralight.

Look at left card. Camera Angle is really nice.

    1994-95 Ultra All Rookie Team

    Only from Hobby Jumbo Pack

Character is well embossed and picture is one of famous Hardaway picture.

    1995-96

    Finest Dish n Swish

    Very nice Magic Duo

    Finest Mystery Refractors

One of very famous card in middle of 1990's

Some people thought this card as dream card.

    Flair New Heights

    Look at that slow motion.

    Flair Play makers(from Ser. 2)

    First Penny Hardaway 3-D card.

But if you don't want to spend much money, USA 3-D would be nice choice.

    Fleer All Star

really cheap insert. But card design is very nice.

And Penny was really sensational in that all star game.

    Hoops Skyview(Ser. 2)

Do you know ODDs of this card(left)?

    1:480...just 1:480?

Look at that time that was crazy odd..no Game Jersey no parallel.

BV would be 125 at that time.

    After that, EX2000 came out.

    Hoops Top 10.

Now a days you can get this as dirty cheap price.

    But very shinny and beautiful.

That set was composed of prospect players of class of 92,93,94.
    (excpet MJ and Sir Charles)

    Metal Molten Metal

First and last time weried insert...

    beyond description....

    Metal Slick Silver

Motion is like New Heights above.

But this is clear plastic card like 1993's college accetate card.

    SP Holoview (or Diecut)

At that time, this Diecut was dream card.

ODDs would be 1:48 but set is 40 cards.

Would you be able to pick Penny?

You would be able to pick diecut but it would be George Zidek. lol

    Stadium Club Warp Speed(Ser. 1)

Set is 6 cards and all of them are consisted of fast and nice guard.
(MJ, Payton, Mookie, Tim Bug, KJ and Penny)

    Topps Gallery Photo Shot

    One of famous Penny Picture.

Penny did in your face jam against Karl Malone.

    Anything else to explain?

    Ultra Rising Star(and Gold Medallion)

In 1994-95 Season, Topps Company released Rising Star.

But in 1995-96 , Ultra(one of fleer company) made rising star.

Set is similar to hoops top 10.

not crazy shinny but looks georgeous.

Maybe you would not see Gold Medallion many times...

Because ODDs would be 1:360 or 1:370...

Upperdeck Base(or Electric, Electric Court Gold.)

    Picture is very nice..

Picture of Ser. 1 would be In your face against Dino Radja.
    (The same class of 1993).

Picture of Ser.2 is Dream Team III

Not necessary to purchase Elect Gold. Base or Electric is still nice.

    Upperdeck Predictor

Most of people would not know why I pick this cheap insert in this list.

Most of this set is MJ.

    20 cards are all(2 set)

Except 2 Penny, 1 C-webb, 1 Spree and 2 non-person redemption are all MJ set.

Why not Grant Hill ,Shawn Kemp or SHAQ?

    That would be answer...

IMO, this set shows Penny's snesation at that time.

Left - Player of The Week

    Right - MVP

    SPx Trade(and autograph)

The reason I could know this card, I saw this card when I was a little kid in shop near my home.

It was 450$(Yes only redemption !) and Selling price was 400$.

But one thief stole the shop include this card.
(Maybe thief would be a card collector..right?)

BTW, funnily Trade card is rarer and rarer than redemped autograph card.

Because Most of them would be redemped.

If you think you are a Hardcore Penny Fan, this card(trade) must be owned..IMO.

First authenticated NBA autograph redemption card..!
