    Summer job for 14 year old....any info/help?

I'm 14 and want a summer job so i can make money for cards, dates, and whatever i want to buy.....

The most obvious option is go work for my dad since he owns a really big towing/automotive business and i could clean for him there, but he already has employees that do that and i think it'd suck to work for family.....

I was thinking about lawn mowing...i dont own a mower since my parents just pay for someone to come...but i'm going to ask my aunt if she has a lawn mower and ask family if they have it....

    help me out

Mowing, raking, yard work, pet care for people on vacation, along with picking up mail for those same people, babysitting, car wash (do it with friends, split the money). Just a few ideas.

Any kind of yard work is typically the best way to go at that age (pretty certain you have to be 15 or 16 in most areas to work fast food or retail). I'm sure someone in your family could lend you a lawnmower or whatever is needed to help with someone else's yard.

I'd say mowing is the first thing that comes to mind. Oddly enough, if you dad pays someone else to mow rather than just making you do it for free maybe see if he would let you start doing it for money. Maybe you can work something out so where he will buy you a mower to start and you can pay him back if you get more clients. Lots of people these days don;t want to mow their grass as well as lots of other types of yard work. Seems like you could make some good money if you can find yards to mow.

as far as getting a legit job it will be harder than if you were 16. Sounds like working for your dad my be the way to go.

Cleaning out Rain gutters, (Ladder, gloves, and trash bag)
Mowing yards- Gas & Oil, rake, edger, lawn mower and will you be required to pick up the mowings?
Window washer - Windex or Ammonia, rags, ladder
Wash cars - bucket, soap (Enviroment friendly), rags
Pet sitter/walker - busy people can't find the time to do this.

Those are just a few ideas.
