Bettman Says NHL Team For Vegas Not Yet In Cards

Las Vegas, NV (AHN) - The NHL only wants a more celebrated atmosphere by holding its annual awarding ceremonies in Las Vegas and not as a means of eying a 31st team franchise, commissioner Gary Bettman said Monday.
Bettman downplayed any insinuations that Sin City could be a potential new member of the NHL, saying that Las Vegas needs to sort out first its stadium and arena issues.
The holding of the awarding ceremonies, in Las Vegas for the next three years, is a way to attract stars and businesses for the NHL, Bettman said.
